The records show disgraced referee Tim Donaghy placed 134 calls to referee Scott Foster - more than the 126 calls Donaghy made to his bookie - between October 2006 and April 2007, the period during which he has confessed to either betting on games or passing on game information to gamblers.
It’s on the refs and the players. The refs are horrible! They are consistently inconsistent on how they call games. HOWEVER, the players cry waaaaaay too much. Chris Paul is one of the worst offenders, according to him he’s never committed a foul his entire career. Dude cries after every…single….play. It gets old. Players need to just play the game and refs needs to call it fairly. It’s not that hard. I blame both sides.
The big question is where is Adam Silver in all of this? He gets paid $10 million a year to do what exactly? Hide behind the scenes and make a cameo at the All Star game and then disappear again? Dude needs to get fired and they should hire a former player that has some business acumen. Silver looks like he’s never played a sport in his life so how can he relate to the players? He can’t. He’s just a politician. Get rid of him!
Who else is sick of this blatant lack of accountability from the referees. I'd love to see investigation into the motives of the refs no calls and ejections with suspensions or fines handed out to the referees for dismantling the flow of the game. Also, for taking away the overall paying customer experience from the stadium to the couch. NO ONE pays to see referees get into ego battles with players.

Motivation? Money. The refs are crooked and they are steering the outcome of this season. The cat is out of the bag, and the NBA has to do something about it, otherwise fans can switch to more entertaining leagues that care about the players. Euroleague is quickly becoming a better league just because they play sound basketball and don't have referees hired from the mafia.

If you argue or cuss at an official you going get thrown out. It been like that for years. Even coaches get thrown out for cussing out officials.

If the Refs are supposed to be seen as the highest standard on the court, they need to be held accountable for these things. Players getting techs for and1s, talking to them, when theyre frustrated about no calls, etc. Officiate the game, not the emotion. Absolutely terrible to take away from the experience ppl pay to see.
They aren't throwing out players because of feelings, they are getting ejected based on the rulebook. If the players don't overstep the mark then they stay in the game. Maybe the players should have some self control too.
I agree the players need to take some accountability as well however the ejection of Giannis for barely looking at his opponent is ridiculous. That rule needs to change, players are not robots. However the constant whining by the players after every call needs to stop. Both sides need to chill out. My question is where is Adam Silver in all this? This is fantastic. MR Silver, you are doing a bang up job. Nobody wants to watch players play, we watch the NBA to see the top officials in the sport. I could care less about a game winning 3 point shot or a sick dunk. It's all about personality control and Scott Foster is the MVP of that. Seriously, why does ESPN even bother showing player highlights? I want to see the greatest foul calls of the game. It's a make or missed (call) league.
On a non sarcastic note, we all know the real reason why the NBA backs these refs no matter what they do. Because the NBA can't get rid of them. The commissioner doesn't want to have Scott Foster get fired and then find out that he's writing a book about fixed games and being told how to manipulate the outcome of games for "an exciting ending". The last thing the league wants is to have an official corroborate Tim Donaghy. That would mean that he's not a "rogue" official. Scott Foster and every ref in the game has a get out of jail free card. And all to try and help market the sport by officiating it in a way to where it's more "entertaining". Should have just let the players play from the start. Then we wouldn't have any of this mess.

Why is CP talking to the ref after the call is made anyway? If it was just to say “hey I think that call was wrong” he wouldn’t have still be talking. It ain’t like it’s gonna reverse the decision. It went on long enough to believe the ref told him to stop and he didn’t. The 2nd tech is where maybe the red could have waited a bit but at the same time, CP should have learnt to keep his emotions in check by now

Steve Kerr with his fabulous ROTATIONS. Stars never finish the first quarter. They come out with 5 minutes in the 2nd quarter and then sit the first 6 minutes of the 3rd, to then not play the first 5 minutes of the 4th.. I actually agree with perk. When are refs going to be held accountable? They have so much power. And if they make a mistake or eject someone for no reason they get no consequences? Thats wrong. If the players get punished then punish the refs too.
Here's my take with the ejection. It looks REALLY bad on the part of Scott Foster, and he should be suspended. It looked personal. As an official, it should never look peronal.
Foster allowed AND engaged Paul in the discussion. After that, you have to live with the results. You can't allow the conversation, then assert your authority when it doesn't go your way.
Not only that, he clearly assessed both technical fouls once he got angry. He assessed the first tech as Paul is walking AWAY. It looked very unprofessional. Then after HE ejects the player (normally I say players eject themselves), he techs the coach because he was "in his feelings."
There's really no defending Foster's behavior in this situation.

What we don't know is what was said during the back and fourth.
