I have 1 spy point and hate it. Walked on bad knees up a steep mountain and set it up. New batteries. Worked for a week and quit. Spypoint said all I have to do is go reboot it. Really pizzed me off. How often will I have to do that? I hoped to make that climb every six months if I can. No more for me.
Well done on your review. Looked like a nice budget friendly camera option. The quality of the video was pretty good. Always fun to see the animals too. Have a great day.
What i understand is that you have to pay for each individual camera if you’re upgrading from the free plan. The upgraded plan doesn’t merge the additional cameras into the same data plan unfortunately.
The video / photo quality was really amazing for the price point. They look like a Browning Trail Camera took them. Great price as well! Your reviews are the best Dave! Maybe it is time to get my feet wet!
I have been running Spypoint cameras regularly since March of this year. They have to be pulled out of the public land woods regularly. I have a Flex G 36 in the woods with the firmware updated and it stopped working in 1 day😢 I just pulled 2 flex S cameras out of the woods that had to be reformatted. I tried reformatting in the woods but it did not work. Spypoint’s troubleshooting service is good but I’m burnt out on using it. I never know how these cameras are going to perform. I plan on eventually purchasing a Exodus Rival.
I just purchased the Spypoint Flex-M. Is there a setting for picture and video, not just one or the other? All I see is picture mode, video, time lapse, time lapse. Not a combo for both..
Great video! Looking thru all the comments, I don't see one on how many days you believe the lithium battery pack will last if you simply get the approximate 100 free photos? Maybe the same amount of time as 8 typical AA's?
I sure hope these are better than the flex s. I'm on my third one in four months. Can't seem to get one to last thirty days. It's been four months total sending them back when my new one arrives. Can't complain about customer service. They take the easy route and just send me a new camera. Just hoping they send me a good one soon. Deer season is right around the corner. LOL. I'm also glad that I have my tactacam's out as well. Wife bought me one of these when she seen them on sale. Wishing she wouldn't have now. I've spent more on batteries in three months trying to figure these things out. I could have bought a couple of tactacam's. They will not refund you money spent on batteries, I tried. But hey you live you learn.
Thankyou for very good review as considering this camera. One question though. My spypoint micro had a 32 gb micro sd card limit. Do these? as thougt you mentioned you were using larger capacity sd cards. Thankyou.
I have had multiple Spypoint cell cameras and it seems after 4-6 wks of being on, something goes wrong. Support tells me I need the 'camera in hand' to fix and that the firmware IS up to date...have you had this problem? I wonder if they treat you differently if you are a "insider member". I've had to go disrupt my hunting land/area to fix a camera that is over an hour away...let me know your thoughts. thanx
Hi.thank you so much,I couldn't of set up my camera without first watching your videos.very much appreciated...can you help me out again with advice on how to get my video's from my trail cam via SD card to then play on my phone or tablet..IV tried to format the card before I put it in the cam,but upon putting it back in the phone/tablet the video icon is just blank and unable to play..awesome channel..it's my 1st camera 👍
Sorry man, no more spypoints for me. I've owned some that were good and some that were terrible. Where they fall out is their customer service. One example is one time I had a camera under warranty fail. After spending an hour on hold, I finally got through to someone and they promised to send me a replacement camera. I never did receive it, even after several follow-up calls. That's just one example of their poor customer service I have experienced with them. No more. I hope it works out for you
I have had good luck with spypoint cameras. I haven't had to contact customer support due to watching TH-cam videos and figuring out any problems on my own. Guess I've been lucky. I went to tractor supply yesterday to purchase another 2 pack of spypoint Flex M cameras and they were sold out. I decided to try the Tactacam Reveal 3.0 which was $35 more per camera. I also bought the rechargeable battery and the external solar battery. I think the HME solar panel is a better option. After getting the camera setup and running I was a little disappointed on the quality of the pictures it sent my phone. I'm also not a fan if the app. Maybe over time I will learn to operate and enjoy the operation of the app. The reason for the long comment and story is to give Spypoint a fair shake. Everyone has their own experience with different brands. I'm partial to spypoint and how well they have performed for me. Even the old Cell Link works great for me except for the squirrels chewing the small flat cable that connects the cell link to the standard camera. Hopefully I won't have to deal with customer service as you have. I did call tacticam customer service yesterday due to a problem getting the app to work properly. It was just a 12 minute wait and the young lady was very nice and knowledgeable. Thanks to people like the Hunting Farmer for making videos on all these cameras it makes our choices easier on which camera would better serve our purpose. Thank yall for your input and comments on these videos. Helps me tremendously.
@@basicinfo.9315 I too have a couple of cell links and I've had squirrels chew the cable. I started wrapping the cables in duct tape. They haven't bothered it since. Hope this info helps
Iv been having nothing but issues. I have 8 spypoints. Unlike my friends Tactacam, as soon as I loose signal /use the total free photos/ they’ll stop sending and will never start again until you go out to the camera which is the exact opposite of what I want to do.
Good review Dave! Seems like a good deal especially like you said if you want pics and you run more than one SpyPoint and get on the plan. Have a great day, Char😊
How's she goin'? Another good review of this camera Dave. Thanks. I think 720p video resolution is a weak point but for the cost, I guess that's kind of what you get eh! Take 'er easy!!
im on the fence i have 3 reveal cell cam and 2 spy point im going to get 3 more but just dont know what brand reveal or spypoint. thanks for the video an your input is always great
Seems like a decent cell camera for the price. I’ve never owned a cell camera nor a spypoint camera but I too have heard bad things about them. I do have question for you since you do run cell cameras. I’ve been told you can get a different cell carrier than what you have to send pictures to. Like if you have Verizon cell service can you get att on the cell camera sent to a Verizon camera. Like I said I was told you can do that but I figured I’d ask you
You heard correctly. A cell cam carrier has no correlation with your phone carrier. When you call or text someone with your phone, you don’t have to figure out what carrier the person you want to contact…it still works no matter what carrier they have. Same thing with cell cams. The only reason there are different carriers with cell cameras is so you can choose a camera that will have the best signal at the location you plan to mount the camera 👍
cabela’s has a 2 pack of flex m cameras for 129.99 i just picked them up just thought i’d let others know you can get 2 of these cameras for $130 minus batteries
Nice video! This is quite a cheap camera which is good if you want something on the budget side of things. It’s a shame it isn’t camouflaged as much as most other cameras but seems to work quite well overall! Thanks for sharing
I have a flex g36 and it's the smallest cell cam I own. Is the M bigger? My tactacam is big, my muddy 2.0 is close in size and my stealth cam in not small

What type of flash does the Flex-M have? I'm looking for a no-glow flash.
Can I hook up a solar panel to this camera or can I only use the rechargeable slide in one.

What was the battery life like?
Battery life is on par with many other cellular cameras. If you operate the camera on instant mode you will dramatically decrease battery life.
The only thing that matters is, What Hunting Farmer says!
