      Well said. He was only saying that he thought his own skills could be as good as if not better than Tysons. And that he had a very good chance of victory. And if a fighter thinks that he doesn't have a good chance of winning he shouldn't take that particular fight period. There was no trash talk from Donnie Long.

      @T Jones I respectfully disagree with your statement. We must have watched different fights if you claim young Tyson fought bums except for Holmes and Spinks. And for the record, Tyson vowed to pulverize Holmes in response to how Holmes beat the hell out of a over-the-hill Ali. Tyson owed him those fists of fury. Holmes fronted like he ain't want to slay Ali like that, hence, putting his hands out and shoulders up when addressing the ref, but then proceeded to pummel Ali with a borage of damaging punches to end the bout. TYSON owed him that ass whipping. And what about that big white dude ( can't think of his name at this second) but he was on Tyson ass, landing punches, taking punches, and pushed forward fearlessly in his fight with Tyson. Did better than damn near all the higher ranked fighters..... (for a short span of time that is, which is how long most of his fights went anyway)..

    The funny thing about the Peter Graham Vs Badr Hari thing is, sure he humbled Badr Hari that time, but Badr Hari went on to become one of the all time greatest kick-boxers ever and even best Peter twice after once via TKO. Badr Hari even best Anderson Silva in a kickboxing match. Badr Hari us beaten tons of the most legendary kick-boxers of all time. Peter Aerts, Nick Pettas, Alistair Overeem, Ray Sefo, Stefan Leko, Gokhan Saki, Glaube Feitosa, Semmy Schilt. He’s not some slacker lol.

      Watch that punch in slow motion. Mosley threw the right and then turned his bodyweight into the left that dropped him. He hit him in one of the most vulnerable spots on the human body and Mayorga didn't see it coming. There was zero give in Mayorga's body when the punch landed.
      I'm honestly surprised that he wasn't rolling around on the ground like Oscar De La Hoya against Hopkins.

  • @drew65sep
    @drew65sep 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Mayorga had accrued some losses during his career. Mostly by his own doing in letting himself be hit as an act of strategy. Why? Who knows?Either way, not too smart. He would just purposely let his guard down too many times...and, for too long. All that said, the dude is one tough hombre' to put down. I don't think that I've ever seen anybody take that much punishment and still not go down. No way would I want to get in a street fight with him...You'd just have to break out the shootin iron and be done with it. Otherwise, you'd be boppin heads with him each and every time you ran into him lol. But, the dude could take some punishment.

    6:20 This guy really wasn't that cocky. The entire pre-match phase is about getting into your opponents head, but most importantly to give the audience a good story to root for. Ratings are more important than the sport itself to the people writing paychecks to the boxers. What this guy said about Tyson was pretty mild compared to some of the shit I've heard.
