    One thing I've learned while growing my hair is that the ends will look thin at every new milestone. Our hair strands grow at different rates, when I reached waist length I had to wait another year for all of my hair to catch up. Now I'm tailbone length, the more you cut the longer it will take. However, I completely understand the urge to trim, lol.

      @lookingatdaisies9901 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I feel like this means we should just be watching the top part of our hair instead of using the nape part for length checks. Interestingly enough because my hair is low density, my goal wasn't my nape hair but for my top middle hair to reach my desired length because I want a blunt Bob.

    • @ElexusLovesHerLife
      @ElexusLovesHerLife 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lookingatdaisies9901 I agree, it’s just a measure of how much hangs down your back, we can do without it. I personally now use the “George Michael Method” of measuring my hair, I was going insane measuring the other way. It felt like my hair wasn’t growing 🤣! Now I measure the overall length instead of each section because it’s pointless. My hair is currently 35.5 inches and my goal is 60 inches (long way to go). You’ll get your bob in no time, keep it moisturized and leave it alone 💕.

      Agreed!! This is the comment I was looking for because I thought the same thing! No matter how healthy my hair is, overtime as it grows, I will have thinning at the ends b/c due to the coily nature of my hair. In the past I would trim & trim and hinder growth. Now I’m learning patience and only dusting when needed. It’s definitely a learning curve! It’s sad b/c I see so many naturals trimming unnecessarily!

    Maybe the ONE exception to using a wide tooth comb would have come in handy for your hair cut. It would have made sure all trapped shed hair would jave come to the surface (ends) and given you more accuracy with your haircut! Just a thought. A comb once a year does not hurt much. ❤

    • @queenofpunt

      I usually first comb the shed hair out with a wide tooth comb and then with a fine toothed comb and my hair is fine with it.

    • @154angel154

      @queenofpunt Right Sis! I am all for finger detangling however there comes a time when we can safely combine out hair once or twice a year to ensure there are no trapped shed hair's! As much as our fingers are the "true feeler", a comb is still necessary to cov it thru (just once is enough. ONE full comb thru,,,nothing fancy! Much like the curly cut controversy IMO!

    I want to encourage you to push thru. There is light on the other side. You have worked very hard to get to where you are and only success is waiting on the other side of the door. Sometimes life has a way of working itself out. Just be patient with yourself.
    On another note, KEEP FINGER DETANGLING. I do not use a comb or brush no matter what the majority may say, and I will not be convinced otherwise. Your hair is this length for a reason without using tools. I also trim using the very same method you do, and my hair is mid back length, and do not apply heat either. Not to be rude, but sometimes I see broken hairs with certain youtubers using tools, but they will swear up and down it's not the brush they are utilizing and just " shedded hair" (yeah ok!). Do what works for you.

    ✨🌷QUESTION for you (and anyone reading this)…. have you ever considered or tried full sebum coverage haircare, minimal product usage, or water 💦 only hair care? I decided to give it a try and my hair LOVES it (and so does my budget).
    ✨🌷I was curious how my scalp and hair would feel, and I’m so surprised how it’s working out. I’ve decided to continue it longterm. full sebum coverage was achieved within a couple weeks to a month and my hair is so soft and manageable. itchy irritated scalp is no longer an issue.
