Love how the intros pay tribute to their respective movies.
What this game needed is every monster ever. The selection is a bit limited
Rich Tannis this is a wide array of monsters, and they were even thinking of adding a tlc for kaiju like the MUTOS.
Final hunter 97 well, it's in the Monsterverse, so it would work.
I was disappointed when I found this selection was limited.

2-Sasori (Scrapped scorpion kaiju)
3-Deathla (Scrapped demonic skeletal-like kaiju with a skull head)

Because it was just that. The game was always sold to movie only fans and not really for the video game audience. They even admitted it in Famitsu articles before the original PS3 version released.

I'm kinda disappointed they didn't use the actual movie theme songs for each monster. That would REALLY put you in the old movie style.
TheLegitPlay That would've been great, but it costs money just to buy the rights to each song. They probably didn't see the investment worth it, especially since the dev team was working with a small budget.

One of the few things I actually really dislike about this game. If they do future updates (doubtful), they should add more music from the movies. More than just Godzilla's theme or the redone Jet Jaguar theme.

Compared to the earlier games, the kaiju designs look astounding. Its like they made animated versions of the old costumes, with more polished features and details.
Well most of these monsters were designed based off their SH monsterarts designs, and those figure are astounding looking.
Just Defender but the game still looks like shit for when it came out
Godzilla games aren't often triple gaming worthy and all that like the newest Battlefronts or Halo. For what they had, these look amazing.

That is one of the reasons I like it so much. Mechagodzilla's first reveal from 1974 and Kiryu getting lit up from beneath is infamous and movie accurate.

I would like to see some DLC monsters as much as everyone else, Allow me to list them alongside having thier own intros:
Godzilla 2000 (His intro in Godzilla vs Megagurius)
Gigan 1972 (The Diamond appears in the sky, which explodes and reveals Gigan flying onto monster island)
King Ceasar (Wakes up from his cave and an explosion occurs as he's revealed)
Baragon (His intro from GMK)
Megalon (Drills out of the ground like in his film)
Gorosaurus (Digs into Paris like in Destroy All Monsters)
Varan (Flies into the area like he did in DAM)
M.u.t.o (Hatches from its egg)
Orga (His UFO form mutates into his monster form)
Zilla (Rises out of the ground like he does in 1998)
Megagirus (All of her smaller forms combine into her final form)

BenniRoR All monsters have spoken intros - I either cut away too early, or (in the case of Kiryu and Super Mechagodzilla), they're announced before the cinematic.

paul duncan You can, but for the PS3 version you could actually assign different tracks to the maps, monsters, and military in the game. I would give each monster and vehicle their authentic themes from the movies, which made the game feel so much more authentic.

This game had huge potential. If they only added more versions of Godzilla and characters and a offline PVP mode, this could of been popular like STE and Unleashed. But I get why due to budget and time constraints
Honestly even though it was repetitive I honestly loved this game. I just wish they did more with the story over just "destroy generators." The monster fights were great though

It's honestly a shame this isn't available on the PS store. A digital copy would be awesome. I love Niche games like this. They never do well with mainstream gaming review sites, but for the people who are die hard fans of whatever series they chose to make a game for, it's always a treat because they often aim for a faithful recreation of the source material.
Legendary Goji is just kinda standing there awkwardly after his intro like: "Okay, I didn't read this far into the script, what do I do now?"
Wow. I haven't played this before, but it looks like a lot of effort was put into these. Almost all of the intros pay homage to some really classic and iconic scenes from the films.

@@AbgHadi Gigan took that spot from Ghidorah for a little while back in the 70's. It didn't last very long but he was Godzilla's big bad for a little while and kept showing up as a reoccurring villain.
Reminds of when I first watched some of these rubber monster flicks, on cable tv, way back in the 1980s. Good video.

I really like Legendary Godzilla's roar, feels very realistic
I love how they used the original intros for each monster when they made the game. They used the introduction from each monster's corresponding movie as the monster's introduction in-game.
CANE Airsoft Heisei Godzilla has 4 different breath types in this game - his default (blue atomic ray), Showa (vapor breath), Spiral Ray, and Smoke Rings inspired by Minilla.
They don't add mutos why
I think my favourite intros in this has to be: Godzilla, Gigan, King Ghidorah, Burning Godzilla, SpaceGodzilla, Kiryu, Super Mechagodzilla, Destoroyah and Godzilla 2014.

I love how most of the intros are associated with the movie counterparts, king ghidorah being created by flames, although that was showa king ghidorah, biolannte with the particles raining down from above, and eventually coming out of the ground, and destroyah appearing engulfed in fire

I don't own the game sadly, but I have a friend at work that does. I've played a decent amount and I absolutely love it. Though there are a few things that do some what irk me about it.

Oscar Nou Yaj Ghidorah 1998 actually was planned to be in the game; his portrait is still used by Ghidorah 1991 in the game. The problem is that his full range of attacks were too complicated to implement within the timeframe the devlopers were allowed.

Ab Cd I'd like to see Baragon, Mothra and King Ghidorah 2001, Megaguirus, Orga, Rodan and Anguirus 2004, Kiryu 2002 and the feature of his wapons exploding after his health goes down the half and the same to Super MechaGodzilla and the MUTOS to be Godzilla 2014's final bosses.

One thing that annoys me is that only Jet Jaguar gets a unique theme while most of the monsters get the same theme. Only Godzilla 2014 and Gigan get unique themes as well.
Indeed. I too thought they could've done better with the soundtrack, specially considering all the games prior to this one. Battle Legends, Unleashed, Monster of Monsters, Kaijuu Daikessen, Super Godzilla, all of them had amazing themes for each monster and they were all unique.
I like how the mechagodzilla intro is a direct reference to his original introduction
