I'm glad that MCA had moments like this in his life, his group was releasing one of the most classic albums in music history and they were all just chillin after putting in all that hard work.

I remember when this album came out, had it on blue cassette tape! People seem to forget, at the time in 1989, it was really experimental & a difficult listen for the average fan of the first album. There was sooooo much going on and it didn't sound like your typical hip hop album. Way ahead of it's time & still is, their best album by a mile...

  • @richslepack8375

I was at this party. I was an intern that summer on the 7th floor of the tower. The party was going on while we were working, and finally someone asked if we wanted to go, and they escorted us up. I only got to stay for about 30 minutes, as it was winding down. They paid us in albums and concert tickets instead of money for working there. Somewhere I still have a promo copy of the Paul's Boutique album on vinyl. Nice to have these memories every time I drive by the building, to look up and remember I went to a star-studded party on the roof.

My cousin whos a big time Beasties Boys fan and was the 1 who introduced me to their first album! When Paul"s Boutique dropped my cousin surely enough got it and told me that it was better than their first album. We debated about it and i said let me borrow it. So a couple months down the still nothing. He was like i cant let you get it because im still enjoying this masterpiece. So i scrapped some cash and brought Paul"s Boutique. Its 2012 and I still bump this masterpiece

Paul's Boutique was initially considered a commercial failure by the executives at Capitol Records, as its sales did not match that of the group's previous record, Licensed to Ill, and the label eventually decided to stop promoting the album. The album's popularity continued to grow, however, and it has even been touted as a breakthrough achievement for the Beastie Boys. SHOWS WHAT RECORD LABELS KNOW!

I’m happy to say I got Paul’s Boutique on cassette when it was released and I’ve always loved it. 😎

Mine was black but had a multi colored label. Kinda like a rainbow through the capitol logo and the song listing.

Choosing a different file type was all that was needed. I already got it. Works great for all of the videos, that I have encountered so far, that I have had any problems with.
Aren't you at least going to say thank you?!
