Hot take: Battle Position effects should work on Links, except they should get destroyed instead of going into Defense Position. I need Lose 1 Turn to become the ultimate Link floodgate.
My unhinged take is that synchro decks have been some of the least fun decks to play against for a while because of their generic support, most of the generic negates I’ve seen have been Synchro or Links, which synchro decks sometimes still run
drawing the out is surprisngly fun at times, i remember on masterduel during tearlament height facing someone trying to abuse smoke grenade of the thief to hand rip me but left me with a dark ruler left in hand because he can snipe it on my turn but i ended up drawing into silent graveyard for my opening draw so when he went for his smoke grenade hand rip again i chained silent graveyard and he tried to shuffle it back into his deck using an ishizu shuffler but i guess he doesnt realize that the effect still resolves where it was activated and thus still gets negated by silent graveyard he scooped when i activated dark ruler afterward
While I agree that the idea of drawing the out is great fun, I'd argue that it's the act of needing & not finding the out that sucks. You said you primarily play Duel Links, so that means you're at least aware of Rush Duel. The format for the Rush WCS was so god awful, because Magnum Overlord, one of the 4 or so main decks for the format, would just OTK you on turn 3 or 4 because you didn't draw Negate Attack. That or it got popped beforehand. In case you don't play Rush, or don't know what I'm talking about, I'll summarize. Magnum Overlord is a Maximum monster. They work like Exodia, where you have to assemble the pieces in your hand in order to summon it. It has 3500 ATK, can't be destroyed by Trap effects, and can boost itself by the difference between the players' LP if the owner has the lower amount. It's not at all difficult for this guy to hit 8000+, since Rush has 6000 LP. There are 3 cards that can stop Magnum Overlord, Negate Attack, King's Majesty, and Call of the Earthbound. Negate Attack is a Legend card, meaning you can only have one in a 30 card deck. King's Majesty is one copy per save and limit 3, and requires a player to run Level 1 Normal Fiends, which some skills prevent. Finally, Call of the Earthbound is also bizarrely limit 3, and serves very little purpose outside of maybe stopping the Magnum OTK. Also, with 80% of decks having their boss monster of choice on the limit 3 list, running these cards is a hit to consistency that most aren't willing to risk. This means that the only one of these that most decks could run was Negate. And if it got popped or self-milled? Might as well scoop, you're cooked. My theory is that for the Rush WCS, Konami is fiddling with the meta on purpose to make sure that it's nothing but Maximums vs other Maximums. It's 2016 Worlds Blue-Eyes all over again. Though I can't for the life of me figure out why. Anyway, sorry for ranting. My hot take? I think that Floodgates are healthy for the game in theory. They encourage a player to diversify their deck profile by adding backrow hate and possibly even floodgates of their own.
@@emblemwarrior11 no joke though, its so bad when it happens to you, and so fun when you do it to someone else. Truly yugioh as a whole, I definitely agree about it in practice
Agree with your first take. Learning how to play the game requires playing decks I'm personally not interested in so I kinda prefer just leaving shit to chance and seeing if the Dark Hole topdeck is enough. Sometimes it just is :).
Dark world is my pet deck, I have a theory that Konami knew what skill was being used in DL with the deck (avenger from the void) and that's how we got Genta... seriously if he's added to DL, and only him, the deck will shoot through the proverbial glass ceiling
The only problem is how the logistics of making a reprint set for these cards that were released 7 years ago, also the deck's UR slots are basically an entire box worth of UR's(unless they make a structure deck, alongside it,but eh I doubt it)
Love having you in my chat cu. Here is my opinion. Diversity and skill ceiling are two key things you miss in a meta game says "draw the out" . Take this meta for example Agents make ridiculous boards turn 1 in order to say you can't play the game however you have people saying if you draw the lancea or veiler you prevent the deck ok but that goes for everyone even your opponent who can also do the same at that point now your going from skill to luck. Also we have to take Into account a few things #1 p2w formats like this are to have an optimal agent list your looking at needing the standard core Hyperion Venus all of your synchros etc but also multiple hts to compete #2 much less diversity not every deck has the room to play 9hts without losing significant consistency large scale engines like sky striker suffer from limited space and high spell capacity into coin flip deciding games #3 this gets a lot further exploited in the kc cup format which I think is awful as it is as it provides a player to play hundreds of games with limited sleep. However in a format like this where opening the out, coin flip wins vs losses are going to force you to play more games . Less diversity imo means less players which is why I don't like formats like this 😊
My hot take is that archive skills (aka the skills for non-anime decks) were a mistake. Outside of arc v and vrains - nearly all of the anime decks suck, so giving them skills to help them out makes sense. Tcg/ocg decks on the other hand, usually don't need the help unless they're really, really old with little to no meaningful support over the years.
Here we come: the present format (floodgate meta, if you like) is the worst format of this game since Link Era began, probably even since pendulum era began. It transcends even the tier 0s in shitness
For anyone that says "just learn the rules" or "read the cards", you obviously are not very informed. Yugioh has so many unwritten rules and card interactions that it is literally illogical. You have to literally make mistakes to have a chance and understanding all the interactions. It is certainly one unhealthy aspect of the game
one of the funniest parts of the game, is learning how an obscure/unintuitive ruling works (something like roach or improper summoning) and pretending like you knew about it your whole life when helping others.
Idk if you read comments past 5 days but my lukewarm takes is that.. I just don't understand why people cheer for rogue decks like hero (talking about MD here) many of these decks spent minutes comboing off into a "you can't play the game" board, whether it's like so many negates that you can't do anything (infernobles, dw, or others rly), floodgates (afro mentioned hero, in that case why don't you just use an actual 1 card flip floodgate to save my time), or in the very rare case just skip your turn (tellar).. it's yeah just draw the out, just nib, play board breaker, etc. But what if you don't? You watch an uninterrupted cutscene of the opponent rubbing their balls and figured out you don't draw the out by your draw phase.. some people say "let 2nd player draw 6 cards n skip their draw phase" but "gg go next" turn 1 isn't a fun gameplay.. in case anyone say play other games.. I am, I'm just here to watch dlinks contents from you because it's funny and I don't have to experience the ptsd first hand
I think people like rogue decks becaue theyre just different at least. But I wont even pretend that some rogue decks (including the ones I play) are just as degenerate with the right opening hand.
@@cuchutrain yeah I suppose, I just wish that ygo isn't so determined by what 5 cards you draw, and maybe giving each players a chance to draw some outs themselves Am starting to sounds like a yugiboomer but I never actually was around back then, I played vanguard but their online client just aint cutting it.
on the gacha note, i hate it but yeah it’s satisfying how i pulled forbidden droplet in my first selection pack, or how I REALLY don’t wanna spend gems on Rush duels but because i was playing them for worlds qualifiers for fun and decided I wanted to have the stupid Sevens magician, so I got 1 selection pack and got the motherfucker :)
Agree. That prismatic is so trash. Also, I hope this is not a hot take, but why the fk they reduced the gems we get from EVERY SINGLE THING IN THE GAME. And I think the skills are too op. I know some decks need. But you don't have to make a skill that allows the players to play floodgates only decks and still have a full archetype with consistent plays, since the skill gives you the card you need
Also not a hot take as much of an "Unhinged" idea... they should launch a card that's essentially a fusion of magic cylinder and mirror force where it destroys all the opponent's attack position monsters and deals the total damage of all the destroyed monsters combined, call it "Nuclear mirror force " or something like that 😂
Not sure if it’s really an unhinged take or not, but I think anime decks getting skills that make them playable is okay. Not when it’s Tier 0 like Onomat, Salads and Tachyon, but I find it funny Blue Eyes has consistently been Tier 1 to “unplayable” all through out Duel Links history. Even Red Eyes and DM got their small time in the sun. What I really want is Komoney to give us back Number 90 PLEASE 😭
My shit take is, am totally fine with kinda op skill as long as they are not tier 0 but we need our generic skills back like labyrinth and the others becoz generic skills are the best in cooking crazy duel link deck
Draw the out isn't a bad argument, it's just poorly phrased. What you mean to say is RUN the out, as in put it in your deck so instead of autolosing some matchups, you maybe sorta got a chance...if you gacha hard enough
You're just like me😂: -I play duel links and sometimes master duels with my friends -I'm not very good at the game but also not bad -I atleast make 1 mistake per duel Its so relatable

Hot take: All newly released skills are broken as hell. It feels like every time a new box is released, they release even more broken skills alongside it, and it's a problem. Worst of all these skills don't get nerfed until a month and two as passed. Look at the old skills they have downsides and make sense. The new skills just say f#$k you win the duel.
I haven't played Yugioh for like 6 months since i didn't pull the limited Feet Blossom and Odorous Soles alt in Master Duel New Year Celebration or something and that got me really fed up with the games as a service model. I don't remember so i guess i'm gonna say Grass is fine so i can use on my Skull Servant deck, what collateral damage? I just wanna have fun with my pet deck. As for Duel Links, i don't think they should use the same theme for 6 different duelists, it takes out a lot of their personality and expression.
yeah, the prismatic cards are awful, only got them for the steam archivment and never cared again for it they should add dragonmaids, the entire archetype in a constructed easy to access deck 😗
Hand traps were a mistake and too monster centric. More importantly, links were a mistake because they were suposed to limit the game and instead powercrept the game into oblivion.
Hot take: I get utter joy out of playing decks that make an opponent crumble away. I play Runicks as an engine for Orcust, but sometimes just yoinking away all cards seems more fun. I started playing because of the power I felt when I played Domain Monarchs. I play Floowandereeze to this day because it feels so nice to just shut down my opponent if an opportunity presents itself. Also it means I just have shorter combos. Control decks in general are just nice. There's an amazing feeling out of crushing someone's gameplan to smithereens because they can't unga bunga out of my strategy. Watching them realize how restricted they are is an unbelievably satisfying feeling.
Also more duel links shit posts plz. Also make a vid about how Battle Chronicle blue eyes is broken brain dead nonsense and BEAUTIFUL. Got up to DL 19 after not even thinking about the game for the past 6 years. I love it.
I kinda like when one deck is super strong and therefore over-represented in a format because then I focus on running cards to counter it. Only to an extent though. If it's not counterable, it's bullshit
My trash opinion is that Yugioh should have set rotation :) What?? You wouldn't be able play your max rarity *inset pet deck here* deck on the most recent rotation, who cares??? They are trash anyway!!! (Decks could be reprinted on later sets by the way and you can always play whatever you want with friends)
I'm not a guy who likes to play alot of ranks, just enough to get the gems. And i'm trying shiranui at this KC and i'm speed running the ranks, only lost, 2-3 times and 1 disconnet and i'm rank 18 i mostly it's because, ppl just giving up. Some decks are just broken
we're in a weird spot where theres been enough graveyard/banish decks that people have been main decking lancea. That plus shiranui being pretty popular on ladder for a few seasons now means people know the matchup pretty well. With that said, sometimes you know how to beat shiranui but just cant do anything anyway. Such is the beauty of shiranui.
I WILL FIGHT CHUCHU AND SAY THAT I'M RIGHT AND HE IS NOT!!!!!!! ....... Unfortunately I don't know on which topic is that true..... *looks at the terrible Duel Links craft token system compared to Master Duel Crafting system* .......... Nope, ain't got anything.
Thinking completely selfishly, I love playing Floodgates. I love how I can throw down a Barrier Statue and watch my opponent think for a solid 2 minutes (Obviously, Floodgates bad, I still try and avoid them for the enjoyment of others. But I can't deny I love playing them)
Speaking of Mellfys and higher rarities, I will never forgive Mellfy Rabby for getting an ultra in Legendary Duelists: Season 1 as a preview card over Mathmech Diameter, leaving the former as the ONLY NON-FOIL Mathmech card in the TCG to this day.
Hot take: Rush duels are better than the standard format (both master & speed) you don't have to sit and wait for an eternal combo that ends in 10 negates + floodgates nor loose to a yellow botton... I hit you, you hit me, I use my traps to try and stop your attacks to gain advantage and viceversa that's the way YuGiOh should be played
@@500938ful The game even use to have a pretty good amount of skill based difficulty... but then the started releasing a bunch of monsters that basically negate game mechanics like hitting through resolves, overriding damage absorption etc, and now the game is just a collab fest
@@cuchutrain even worse they had to make new mechanics just for those to get crept out. Now monsters hit over the cap and regular bosses have like 100bil+hp
If you know your deck you'll never lose to time. Quit thinking so damn hard you should be able to autopilot your deck if you love it enough. Edit: Melffy Mommy needs a new card to pair with it. Something that can attach itself from deck.
I mean ur kinda right I hated Prismatics in the beginning but I guess over time I tricked my brain into liking them more than just status, because now I actually like em
Opening the out in the most bullshit way is fundamental to yugioh, even more so than having good cards or a functional deck. It's why yugi won against kaiba in the first episode (yugi draws exodia, the out that no one has ever seen), and why yugi lost to kaiba in their 2nd duel (kaiba draws monster reborn).
Here's my hot take They're aren't too many special summons your all just boomers And now hears a hot take that sounds like the exact opposite Of what I just said You can do too much at time with one turn I've seen those master duel stardust dragon full field combos That shit is insane but its absolutely but im absolutely beyond positive that its not because of the amount of special summoning That's a symptom not the cause
Finally someone saying Duel Links Prismatics look bad! I legit prefer to get Glossy instead

I don't remember so i guess i'm gonna say Grass is fine so i can use on my Skull Servant deck, what collateral damage? I just wanna have fun with my pet deck.
As for Duel Links, i don't think they should use the same theme for 6 different duelists, it takes out a lot of their personality and expression.
yeah, the prismatic cards are awful, only got them for the steam archivment and never cared again for it
they should add dragonmaids, the entire archetype in a constructed easy to access deck 😗
i see cuchu i hit like am a simple man
Hand traps were a mistake and too monster centric. More importantly, links were a mistake because they were suposed to limit the game and instead powercrept the game into oblivion.
Hot take: Carly Carmine's ost is actually great
i had to go look up what this sounds like (i play with sound off because im boring), and this is indeed a hot take
Hot take: I get utter joy out of playing decks that make an opponent crumble away.
Cyber Dragons should be freed.
Aleister did nothing wrong, Cucytus is not that OP.
Hot take: Most of the DL Losing themes are better than the Winning themes.
DSOD losing theme screams anime comeback time.
Hot take : the game right now is too slow it should be atleast 5 time faster than it is now
The mid player comment is me to a tee
Also more duel links shit posts plz. Also make a vid about how Battle Chronicle blue eyes is broken brain dead nonsense and BEAUTIFUL. Got up to DL 19 after not even thinking about the game for the past 6 years. I love it.
I kinda like when one deck is super strong and therefore over-represented in a format because then I focus on running cards to counter it. Only to an extent though. If it's not counterable, it's bullshit
what's your drawing tablet, and how much do you like it?
its a huion and i like it a lot
My trash opinion is that Yugioh should have set rotation :)
What?? You wouldn't be able play your max rarity *inset pet deck here* deck on the most recent rotation, who cares??? They are trash anyway!!! (Decks could be reprinted on later sets by the way and you can always play whatever you want with friends)
Mellfy lore dropped‼️‼️
If the game sucks then Maxx C at 3 its fine.
I WILL FIGHT CHUCHU AND SAY THAT I'M RIGHT AND HE IS NOT!!!!!!!
.......
Unfortunately I don't know on which topic is that true.....
*looks at the terrible Duel Links craft token system compared to Master Duel Crafting system*
.......... Nope, ain't got anything.
Thinking completely selfishly, I love playing Floodgates. I love how I can throw down a Barrier Statue and watch my opponent think for a solid 2 minutes
(Obviously, Floodgates bad, I still try and avoid them for the enjoyment of others. But I can't deny I love playing them)
Mystic Mine is a good floodgate design due to it having a built-in out so no more need to draw the out.
I'd say that Rush Duel's powercreep will be interesting to watch.
3min combo? Hahahhaha
More like 23min!
i have a better mantra ,
play the out (the extra deck is there for a reason)
and no what if i don't poll it ,i didn't either
i think ash and maxx c are fine, i rather have a meta WITH them than watch every single match being a 30min a turn solitaire game
Mans using pad for his gacha reference. Based
oh my god someone else played pad. I still own my account despite not having played in like 8 years.
lmao i havent played in about 3 years. It's soo bad I want it to go back to 2015
@@500938ful The game even use to have a pretty good amount of skill based difficulty... but then the started releasing a bunch of monsters that basically negate game mechanics like hitting through resolves, overriding damage absorption etc, and now the game is just a collab fest
This is only a hot take in the wider Yu-Gi-Oh community, but Duel Links is way way WAY more fun than Master Duel. It's not even close
Opening the out in the most bullshit way is fundamental to yugioh, even more so than having good cards or a functional deck. It's why yugi won against kaiba in the first episode (yugi draws exodia, the out that no one has ever seen), and why yugi lost to kaiba in their 2nd duel (kaiba draws monster reborn).
hey i mean technically every card in your opening hand that helps you win is an out, and every other card is a brick
Hot take:
Blue Eyes isnt the most braindead deck in Duel Links, but Decks lIke Sunavalon & Cyberse (no matter which version) are
So, COME AT ME
Bait used to be believable
Why good things come to the end so quickly? (like this video) 😢
wait is exodia the best deck?
Hot take: player why plays skillbased decks do not want to use there brains
melfy mommy is pregnant duh , pregnant animals are always more dangerous
Here's my hot take
They're aren't too many special summons your all just boomers
And now hears a hot take that sounds like the exact opposite
Of what I just said
You can do too much at time with one turn
I've seen those master duel stardust dragon full field combos
That shit is insane but its absolutely but im absolutely beyond positive that its not because of the amount of special summoning
That's a symptom not the cause
