I was requested to make some Outdoor Nativity Sets for the Christmas season this year, so I filmed it all to show you how I did it.
I used 1/2" sanded plywood and applied some premium Behr Ultra Exterior White Paint. I ended up making 13 sets total - selling 12 and keeping 1 for our home.
This was a big project and a lot of hard work, but I'm quite happy with the results.
**Here's a link to the template - drive.google.c...
This is an SVG file, so it might only be visible through certain apps/programs, but it should be scalable and able to print. Hope that helps!
Thanks for watching!
Also, check out my new Etsy Store here: justshoppinaro...
You'll find a beautiful miniature version of the Nativity, plus a bunch more stuff that I'll be adding on a regular basis!

Ho Josh, great job. Just what I was looking for, thanks!
Thanks!
Super fantastic bro 😎👊
Thank you!!
Good video and good job enjoyed it thx for sharing Be safe God Bless
Thank you, much appreciated!
Good job once again by young JJ. One of those would make a wonderful giveaway prize. And since I suggested it I believe I should be the winner. I'm within 2000 miles of your domicile I'ma guessin, so shipping should be a cinch! Thanks Yo!
Hahaha that's a great idea! I'll see what I can do...
And thanks!
Just, I just saw this channel. I a,so just purchased this jigsaw. It was on clearance for 19.99 so, I want for it. Anyway, I am really enjoying your Also, I knew there was something about you. In listening to other videos I was not sure.e Now I know it is the Lord,
It is indeed! And thanks for watching - and for the comment.
I wonder how this would look if you covered it with glitter
with the light on it
Almost to that 1k mark! 👍
Heck yeah man!
Congrats on doing the second channel too. That's really cool and a great idea to organize your stuff like that.
@@JustJoshinAround thanks, sort of feels like I’m starting over, but not quite. Hopefully the new channel picks up a little faster than the first one.
@@stuffyoucando2 oh I'm sure it will pick up quickly. But yeah, that's definitely a lot of work starting it up and porting things over.
@@JustJoshinAround yeah, so far it’s getting a lot more traffic, but I’m sure part of that is because pretty much dumped ~ 60 videos into it right from the start.
That certainly helps haha
You had it easy..I have to do mine from a paper pattern using tracing paper..not lucky enough to already have one to trace from
Yeah that definitely helps. I just added a link to a template in the description of the video too, if that helps
Hii sir it's really awesome, fantastic
Thanks Nikhil!!
Looks great! Where can I go to get one?
Thank you very much! Unfortunately, I don't have any extras made to sell right now, and I'm guessing the shipping costs would be sky-high. Unless you might happen to be local to western Pennsylvania haha.
Also, I'm actually in the process of setting up my Etsy store, where I'll be selling miniature versions of the Nativity Set. So I'll be sure to update you with a link to that, if you'd like.
Regardless, thanks for watching and commenting!
Do you have the link to the template image that we can use to make it?
I just added it to the description of the video - it's best I could do
Excuse I wanted to ask what is the height and width of the nativity , the holy figures and the two parts for supportimg the set.
I would love to find out where I can go to buy one
Just wondering. What was the sale price on the other 12
I sold each for $135 - seemed like a fair price to me.
Where can I get a pattern for this cut out
I just added a link in the description of the video
Hey Josh, I’m not sure exactly what part of the country you’re in but do you think I could have one of those sets or do you think that? Yeah I would really like to make one I try to order several from Amazon and I am pissed off at the shitty quality, although part of me thinking, I should just rip out a jigsaw and make one myself for next year.
Hey there! I live in western Pennsylvania (about 45 minutes away from Pittsburgh).
I can completely understand your frustration - I've gotten burned on the quality of a few items that I've ordered as well.
Making one yourself is pretty simple, depending on your level of comfort/experience with tools. I have a template uploaded with a link in the description, if that helps. Although, I'm going to upload a better version as well (just haven't had a chance yet).
Thanks for watching and commenting, and keep me updated!
Where did you get the template?
It was actually from one that my parents had (and they copied theirs from a family friend, years ago).
I actually just added a link in the description of the video to download an SVG file for printing use, if that helps.
How can I get that pattern?
I actually added a link to it in the video description just recently. It is an SVG file format, so it might only be accessible through certain programs. But you should be able to resize it to whatever dimensions you'd prefer.
Hi from where can I get the pattern ?
I just added a link in the video description
Would 3/4 plywood work?
I would think it would work fine - might just have to make the slots and grooves a bit bigger to accommodate the thicker material
Beautiful craftsmanship Josh. Also, great Stranger Things ugly Christmas sweater.... Does it come in men's?
Hahahahahahaha
You lost me when you said trace from one you already have. If I had one I wouldn't need one.
Ya know, that's a really good point - I'm kinda dumb sometimes. At some point between now and this coming Christmas season, I'll try to upload a link to a pattern.
Lmaoooo I agree, but really cool thing you did there though Josh , whenever you get a chance and you post a link lmk! Thanks
@@Mercedes03 I FINALLY added a link to the template in the video description. Hope it helps
When enlarging...what scale do I use?
How do I print that image in the "right" scale?
It’s easy to make a nativity just have one already and copy it.
That’s how they’d always been done, ever since the fourth wise man did a silhouette of the scene (erasing himself from history)
Hahahaha, you're right.
I want to link an image that people could print out to use as a template, if they wanted to do one themselves
Looks good and thanks for sharing by any chance did you consider using vinyl because I noticed a lot of them that are being sold online are made of vinyl which is supposed to be more waterproof I guess and that might make it easier to work with is that you don’t have to sand it. Well anyway after you said it took 56 hours to make I figured it’s worth just buying one especially when someone’s really good with all there crafting I know I’ll be way slower than you LOL
@@timtrainer10 thanks! And yeah I considered using a sheet of PVC, but my understanding is that all of the edges would still need to be painted/sealed, because apparently while the main surfaces of the PVC are waterproof, any cross-sectional surface would be very porous and prone to soaking up water. That's what I read anyway.
But yeah, I'd definitely consider using some alternative material if it means cutting down on sanding!! hahaha.
@@JustJoshinAround so do have a link for copying
