In this video I try many different techniques on this sketchbook like wet-on-wet, layering, wet-on-dry, masking fluid,- and peeling artist's masking tape to see how it performs. I love this paint set. It's gone up 33% since i got mine a little over a year ago. I didn't get the sketchbook because at the time I didn't know hot pressed paper. Now I don't have a problem with it. Just needed a little more experience I suppose.👍
I noticed a lot of prices on Amazon have gone up slightly since the COVID pandemic started. Hopefully they'll come back down as things start returning to "normal'.

The sketchbook is wonderful, the only thing I guess I'd say is that if you're a type of artist who sketches a lot, sketching on this book feels a little weird and it smudges easily. I mean obviously like, sketching before you paint and such haha it would be a bit silly to buy a a watercolor book just to draw lol watercolor is really wonderful on it

I know this is from last year, but I just got mine which is the (I think it's around 7.5 ×10.5 and the block but I cut all the pages apart) and I LOVE it. LOVE. Couldn't believe the quality vs price. Insane. I've heard some bad things about them, but damn dude.
I normally use the Strathmore 90lb mixed media sketchbook for my practice pieces but for this price? I'm getting THIS.

I'm thinking about buying this sketchbook, but I always add pencil colors over the watercolor to add details/finish my paintings... do you think pencil colors would behave well in this sketchbook?
This sketchbook does not have a lot of tooth to the paper. You should be able to use pencils on top of watercolor paint with this sketchbook to create accents but probably will not be able to add too many layers. I'll need to actually try it out to see it it works well or not though.

Yes, you can. The texture and sizing is pretty similar on both sides.
