Perfect! ❤ I was cleaning up and came across my Kol-i-nor stack and decided to try to fix them. They remind me a lot of my 'bubble set', it's like yours, but I got it at Walmart for $3. Mine seem to be better than yours, even without additives, but the chalkiness drives me crazy. They dry like pastels! I added a few drops of Glycerin to my rinse water and it helped a lot, but they're still chalky. I doused all the tablets in both sets with the glycerin water so it would soak in even around the edges. I'm waiting for them to dry so I can repeat the experiment with Gum arabic... I'm just doing a little research and your video popped up. If the gum arabic doesn't work I will try the synthetic Ox gall. QoR makes some in liquid form. Thank you. ❤️❤️❤️

En fait, ce n'est pas le fait qu'il soit chinois ou italien (à part le corps que je préfère ergonomique), c'est la forme de la "plume" qui fait la différence : droite ou torsadée. La droite retient beaucoup plus d'encre que la torsadée et permet de faire des lignes plus larges. On trouve les deux sortes en Chine, en France ou en Italie... Et puis pour la comparaison, il aurait peut-être fallu prendre les mêmes encres peut-être, de la même marque, avec les mêmes pigments.😅

Grumbacher paper is great for acrylics

Hi I was curious if you have ever used the parallels as a dip pen with India inks . And you experience si you had with cleaning consistent flow, kinks in the ink(ink blobs)?

and here I thought my problem was under-wetting the palette. well that explains why my waterpastel paintings are turning out so much better also 36 is too many colors; I pick like five and stick a piece of tape by each well

You have some really interesting pallets. I have all of them but the pinata pallet and the small, clear, makeup pallet. I also have one that goes around my wrist, one I made from a cigarette case, and one with tiny pans I made from an eyeshadow case that holds about 40 colors. You can buy makeup brushes to cut down for travel-size brushes. They aren't great, but they work for sketching.

I love the yupo paper idea, I'm definitely going to try it! Brilliant, tfs!

I bought a glass pen from Murano, too... sadly, it doesnt work. No matter which ink. I guess the tip is somehow broken or not made properly to begin with, but it doesnt give off any ink whatsoever :(

Hmm. I just bought one of these. The cap leaks when you fill it with water. The little cup doesn't sit tightly, the lid doesn't close properly. The colour selection isn't that great and the palette is too small. So I'm thinking of putting it on eBay so some other sucker can have it….

Green earth is fantastic in landscape for distant hills and trees, also for greenish tones in skin colours for portraiture as it is sort and subtle. Other applications are the lighter greens in botanical drawing especially in mixes with yellows, greys and peachy tones for stems and veins. Very useful colour.

Interference colors change when the angle of light changes usually with something aproximating the compliment of its usual color. It shows up more over darker areas of your painting.

Of course you got a blob of ink, you held the pen straight up, you don’t do that. Blob was human error not the pen.

It needs to be soaked for about 10 minutes & dried as a prep so the paint behaves properly. There's videos on prepping sized paper.

For a lot of people a CONSISTENT line is the better option... this 1 dollar Pen looks like a great starter option - and if you are not happy with the width just try to grind it - if you fail, get a new one for a dollar... i think this is great! 😅

To avoid destroying your brushes,always use them opposite of the direction the bristles point (eespeciall when you pick colour). It will destroy the points of your round brushes eventually,as also the hair will get shorter over time.Thanks a lot for 5he swatches.keep up the good work!

It is an old video, but I’ll answer your question anyway: interference colours are designed to go on top of other colours to create colour shift effect.

Hate to break it to you but those square pans are not old at all. Someone put them in a vintage tin. In old prang the pans are made of metal.

I would DEFINITELY add the $1 pen to my collection … and all of the other colors, too. But yeah, it wouldn’t stop me from getting the pretty ones like your Italian specialty! 💚

Do you realize that 3 tsp is equal to 1 tbsp?

Has anyone tried this solution with the Daler Rowney Simply Watercolor set of paints? I bought that set for around $15 plus shipping and they are totally unusable. I have some others that are better but I don't want to waste these if there is any possible way to salvage them.

Look Chinese invented ink, I don’t see anything wrong with the Chinese glass, Chinese art is ancient, Italians followed.

I wish people could think about things that happened behind the door when they purchase Chinese products. Extremely low wage of workers; slavery to ethnic minorities ; government’s brutality towards its own people.

Love blackwing pencil; lead is soft BUT simply hate mirado black warrior because the lead is very hard as compared to other pencils -> MUSGRAVE Test scoring pencils, FABER CASTELL ECO GRIP 2001 pencils AND TICONDERROGA #1 pencils (#1 lead is softer than #2 lead )

As a Chinese I want to say... China does produce some really good products, but if you choose to buy the cheaper ones of course the quality won’t be that good. It’s the same with goods in any other country, higher price for higher quality. I think the prices and the making techniques are comparable, but where they were made is just not. Sorry I know that Chinese goods don't have a good reputation and probably nobody is going to agree with me, but this is how I felt everytime I saw people comparing the quality of cheap Chinese goods to things made in somewhere else.

It would be interesting to take a piece of fine sandpaper to file an angled tip on the dollar store pen to achieve variable line widths.

I don’t know how much difference the ink made. A more relevant test would be to use the same ink for both pens.
