I'm just sobbing lmao I love her so much. She said she did try to write the lyrics but she found it so difficult so she asked a lyricist for help, she wrote down the messages she wanted to transmit for her fans and the lyricist helped transform them into lyrics
The blue contact lenses, the blue of water. Healing water. This song is a Love ode to her fans. Our love is healing her. Her voice is healing our souls. Our Love kept her healing and she is thanking us and giving us back healing love through her music, her angelic voice. This song is a caress.
She said she wanted to write the lyrics herself but it was so hard, so she wrote the massages she wanted to portray and gave it to the writers, so it’s pretty much her feelings and what she wanted to say to her fans.

The song is specifically for Reveluvs. The quoted lyrics was her general thought and loving message to the fans and that's what she was instructed to give the to the composer.

If you look at the album and the way it’s formed, “When This Rain Stops” comes before “Like Water”. That song is her having to heal herself and then when she does, “Like Water” comes next and she’s trying to heal us. I don’t think Wendy wrote the lyrics herself, but it’s obvious she knew what message she wanted to input in her solo debut.
The director of like water mv is same who directed Four Seasons by taeyeon and Palette by IU . You can see that by her signature quality of mvs

The "I just want to thank you for believing in me" was something she asked the composer/writers to put in the song. It something she wanted in the song which is why it's in quotes and even on with the captions turned off. It's for everyone that was/is by her side
Like water is the methapor of how human cant live without water. And we are the water, Wendy cant live without her fans, reveluv, and we need her too.
After the unfortunate accident, wendy showed us that we shouldn’t give up in life. Last year was tough for us reveluvs but it is tougher for wendy because she feels the pain caused by the accident but wendy is a very strong woman, to recover 1 year from the injury is impressive for that kind of injury. All that i can say is i am very proud of her because to overcome those challenges is tough. I wish this solo debut brings more success to her and to Red Velvet! 💖💛💙💚💜 please react to the other title track and the bsides.
Wendy said that she tried to write lyrics but found it really hard. Then, she said what she felt, what she wanted to express and then expressed it into lyrics by the Lyricist. 'I just wanna thank you for believing in me', she was the one who wrote that line, for ReveLuv, because they had waited and trusted her to sing again after recovery 💙
she said this song was written for us to comfort us (for all the past things we reveluvs went through the past year) and to thanks us. imagine being this selfless when she's the one who needs comforting for all the hardship and horror she went through!

I think that this song is actually for everyone who always with her anytime even when she was in her medication for the accident. Now she is back to tell us that we keep her alive and strong again to keep moving on and in this song she want to tell us that she will be there for us and give what we want from her. She just want us to love each other. She will give whatever she can give us and she need us to do so.

Yess I was waiting for this reaction! I personally fell in love with this song at first listen, the melody is so relaxing and comforting, the mv is gorgeous, Wendy vocals are great as always and the lyrics are so meaningful. A perfect debut for our Wendy in my opinion
