Capacitive sensing devices are rapidly proliferating in consumer, computing, industrial, and automotive industries. They are widely used in electronic products in proximity detection mode to alert the equipment of a user's presence in the vicinity or in the touch detection mode to replace mechanical switches, key pads, tuning knobs, and mechanical sliders.
