Zane, I have always thought you were articulate in your own way- just being goofy and forgetful as I am when my ADD takes hold. But when you spoke on how important it is to have time as an individual and especially a women and at that a Muslim woman to have that time to yourself to explore and branch out and you truly were advocating for your sister whether your parents were on board or not (luckily they were!). I believe that was such an eloquent and simply put explanation that really hits home for a lot of people. We see you!

40:45 Brought me back to school days where kids would pick you apart for not having a "regular" meal & said ew or gross to anything that wasn't what they were used to. It's a sesame ball with red bean paste inside btw, sometimes they have a black sesame paste inside too & they're really good with a subtle sweetness. It sucks they reacted that way even without ever trying it, but I guess I'm not surprised cause so many people have done that already. I'm sad to have been so embarrassed or ashamed of myself & my cultural foods that I loved at home but couldn't let myself bring to school. I'm sorry for my mom who spent the time to cook for me. If you're still in school & are feeling that way, don't be ashamed ! You know your food is delicious so enjoy it ! I recommend introducing your friends to it so more cultural foods start becoming normalized : )
