True they are also quite powerful weapons. Even for the Tau. At least from a lore perspective. Also what‘s quite interesting is that only Vespids can use these neutron blasters. Somehow has to do with radiation emitted by the blasters and Vespid‘s being able to stabilise the energy of the crystals in the blasters as far as I can remember
The trailer is nice, although I think that, in terms of animations/textures, the one with the Orks was more detailed. The models are great, but I hope they release more than 4 Scions in the box! You really did a great job leaking these models :)
It’s either gonna be a five man squad that you get dupe sprues of to make a ten man squad since nearly every kill team is ten man squads or it’s a new random 4 man knowing gw it’s possible lmao but it’s prob 5 just duped

I'm excited for the new vespids. Also I hope that eventually we at least get some books with vespids as well as some named vespids. The Tau are one my favorite xenos factions.

I wasn't planning on buying the new pack, but having seen the Scion models, I think I just changed my mind. And I'd rate the new animation on par with the last Kill Team edition's release video.
Everyone forgets the Harakoni Warhawks who are also use Grav-chutes and are closer to Scions in how they operate in small elite squads. Ain't just the Elysians.

The Vespid have neutron blasters, which use crystals from their home world that iirc are powered by the sonic frequencies given off by how their wings buzz. What is new is that it appears they can now take a rail rifle and what looks like a man-portable version of the Airbursting Fragmentation Launcher from the Tau Commander Battlesuit
I reckon the guy from who created the Elysiums for Forge World left the company. GW do have a history of removing but not based on the mindset of if the creator isn't with us then we're not using it, like all the things that Talisman created. They exist still, but we won't ever see or hear from them again outside of what would essentially be cameos.
Fun fact, the Tempestus Scions go to Elysians to learn grav-chute and sip boarding warfare, because Elysia is the Imperiums best (mortal) force at them. (Elysia also does not practice forced conscription to the guard, those psychopaths volunteer for it)
I think for TS: sargent, dual pistols, explosives, turret and normal guy (he just looks for the sight) For Vesps: leader, sniper, heavy weapons, close combat (claws) and normal if the numbers are equal (maybe 2 normals)
The guns in the opening shot plus the smoke when it fires is soo cool. They’re trying to take the guns out, seems they should have carried the sevitor down.
The really cool part where they go down into the distance, in silence, it screamed Syama Pedersen to me. Was he on the project or was it just an inspiration? I don't know, but it seemed like his touch.
As i see that i was thinking later a Ghost Suit shows up and not on Ghostkeel or such a Thing but one of the little one... the Vespids was really a big surprise.

Or is it mostly a smaller upgrade? I saw some discourse that was talking about “recent retcons” to just how much better Primaris were and figured the most studied person would know best! I enjoyed that trailer. The Imperial gun-shrine combat servitor was an interesting glimpse into the type of tech Guard special forces use. I thought the Scions looked great in action and effectively conveyed the sense of a highly trained, elite military unit. Seeing the Scions with Kill Team weapon options like sniper rifles was also fun. From what we saw of the Vespid they looked the part with their range of fancy Tau weapons too. The leaked models look excellent, and I especially like the arrangement of straps holding the gav chutes in place along with the boxier power cells for the variant Hot Shot lasrifles, which makes a lot of sense given that the usual backpack power feeds associated with hotshot las rifles would not be ideally practical when the Scion is also carrying a grav chute on their back and might get such a line tangled during a drop. The heavier, box power cells convey the fact that these weapons use more power than a standard lasrifle and so, if magazine fed, need a larger and bulkier power cell to carry sufficient charge for the weapon. A nice little aspect of these models that shows attention to detail. The trailer even shows the one Scion who does still use a backpack power feed for their weapon (perhaps because this weapon is different from the others? Maybe a higher rate of fire or larger charge capacity?) leaving that feed unconnected and wound back into the pack during the initial drop, and only extending and connecting the feed to their weapon after the main drop is completed and they are boots on the ground to avoid complications during the drop.
I really dig the look of these Scions and looking forward to their full official reveal. I was wondering Val, you heard any rumours about the future of Warhammer Plus?
I'm not a fan of the gaurd but Tempestus Scions are dope. They're given useful equipment and are usually the ones who get caleld in to fight chaos marines when Space marines arent available.
The Kriegsman vs ork kommandos trailer was better I think but this one was awesome in its own right. Love my space marines but Tempestus scions are so cool and we need much more lore and stories covering them
The Tau actually gave the bugs railguns well Stingwings(?) anyway but still bugs with railguns. Its a funny scene that Servo gun-turret usually when it comes to fighting the Tau its the Imperium that has to deal with Tau drones in order to showcase just how advanced the tech of the Tau is in general. Really want to get these new scions. Hoping that they have an option to mount all of them to the base, for on foot appearance. Also would love it if they make it so that you can swap the grav-chutes out so that you can use these as the new scions. Tempestor Prime, is needed. Is it just me or are scions going to be going to 28mm bases...
I still feel it would have been more epic if they were Elysian troopers… (I never been a fan of the scions and always have preferred kasrkin over them) Either way though, it was short and sweet! I feel it needed that big ending like the krieg one got.

Not going to lie, I was convinced the "alpha asset" that had everyone (in the lore dumps) freaking out over was going to be an Emperor Class Titan. Kinda disappointed that it's only an orbital battery.
