Instead of focussing on FMV games, the SEGA CD should have had games like this instead - it's amazing! It uses everything that makes the CD unique! Mode 7 and sprite scaling?! Sign me up!
Saudades!
If only Sega made Super Monaco Gp with the same care the development of this game give to this, it was going to be almost Arcade perfect... Sich a shame.
Couldn't agree more. SEGA Japan should have used the Mega CD ASIC chip for various SEGA Arcade ports and the Mega CD would have sold so much better IMO
Interesting looking game. The track looks like it has been rendered using a Mode 7 style large sprite, but if so, you would expect the track to be totally flat, whereas this rises and falls. Any more info would be interesting.
I think this had the potential to be a great game. Of course given the hardware limitations at the time, much more effort was put into developing everything else but the gameplay itself.
For me, it was just the handling model. It took a lot time to get used to it and turning your car was never as smooth as it should have been. Still it was a labour of love to a F1 fan and the time and I loved it
The sega cd was a wasted opportunity it had so much potential to do some of the popular arcade ports of the time, especially the beat em ups and sprite scalers. Edit.....and fair play this game is fucking hard 👏👏
f for those who didn't get to experience this game when it came out. A truly mind blowing experience for its time
So very true

I loved that game so much. No F1 game was more immersive than this one.

Pretty impressive game for its time!
Used to love this game years ago. This and Jaguar XJ220.
Yes!

Damn, that intro got me pumped as a kid,,,
This looks really impressive for Sega CD
It was and it was a hugely ambitious game for its time on a console
Love this game, I still play it. It takes practice and good steering and tire setting’s depending on the track.
Quality of the info fmv is pretty impressive for Sega cd capability. Looks pretty decent.
Of this game had more time spent on its controls, framerate and a good.sega cd sound track is would have been a game everyone would know and remember
An interesting take on Formula one from Fuji Television…
It was back in 1994 . Quite advanced for its time

A huge gripes that I have are pop ins and the slippery physics.

Muito bom
It's a real pitty that they didn't get Ayrton Senna in this game (they put him as "Player").
I think you could nevertheless unofficially add his name back in, along with his race number in 1993.
@@KoeingseggCCM Yeah, sure. But you know....the official thing would be great.
