Unfortunately you can't change anything inside a zip file once it's created. If you want to add more files, you'll need to drag all the existing files out into the downloads folder or something, then select all the existing files and the new files, and zip them all into a new zip file at the same time. Then, you can delete the original zip file. There should be a link to how to create a new zip file in the description of this video if you need it.
You could try restarting your Chromebook, in case it was a temporary glitch. Other than that, there might be something wrong with the zip file, and it might just not work. Unfortunately there's not much you could do about that. Or, it could be an issue with where you are trying to copy it to, perhaps try dragging the files to a different location. If the zip file is currently on Google Drive or a flash drive or something, maybe try moving the entire zip file to the My files folder, and then try extracting it from there. And if there are multiple files inside the zip file, perhaps try extracting one at a time.
