- Today I'm going to make installing Linux apps, on your Chromebook, much easier by showing you how to get a Linux app store on your Chromebook.
This will allow for one click, easy installation.
☀ Commands:
sudo apt update - look for software / system updates
sudo apt dist-upgrade - upgrade your system files
Install Gnome Software - sudo apt-get install gnome-software gnome-packagekit
Install KDE Discover - sudo apt install plasma-discover

I'm getting the Acer 314 Spin 2 in 1 Chromebook. Mine has 8gb ram 128gb storage 6000 Intel Celeron processor. This will be my first Chromebook. Can't wait to get it.

Developer mode is not 'shady' at all =D=D! Just gives us more options in regards of OS features!

I did everything you said up into the point where I try to open the software, it tells me to upgrade something in order to even be able to use Linux, so I do what it tells me to and now every time I try to open Linux it crashes my Chromebook. Why is that?

If you save a Libre Office document, can you save it to a documents folder? or will it only stay within the Linux partition ?

to get it to work just go to the terminal and type in sudo dpkg --configure -a and it should work.
I love how ChromeOS is based on Gentoo but then has a Debian subsystem

I used to use it, the only problem i had with chrome os is TH-cam would be glitchy, great browser though.
