    I have been looking at videos for months and nothing ever clicked. But for some reason yours did. Maybe it was the birds singing, who knows. But thank you! I inherited a ton of baby yarn and my friend has a charity. I am up to 10 hats already. AND this really cleared up my issues with granny squares, which has been on my list for years! (Up to 4 of those already). THANK YOU!!! I love your video you really opened up my yarn world. I will think of you happy every time I start a new hat/square, which will be often. ❤

    Thank you. Your directitonswere clear and repeated them often enough so beginners could see what you were expaining. What I liked is that you didn't chat nonstop. Hope this is a blessing to others who are looking for something charitable to do.

    I really appreciate this tutorial. I haven't crocheted in a long time but needed to make preemie beanies for my best friend's daughter who decided to arrive a month early. Our little one is only 4lbs and needs beanies to help keep her warm during her time in NICU and even after.
    Your video will be very helpful and I think I will continue making beanies for babies in the NICU.
    Again thanks for your time and help.

      @@keepfxckinggoing Good Morning,
      Thanks for the fb info.
      I finished my first preemie beanie and am on to my second.
      My stitches look a little tight on the first one but I am confident it will improve with practice. Baby is doing well enough that it sounds like she could be going home very soon ( ie: Christmas day) 😁 Yaaaaaaay

    Great video, but a tad confusing. It was difficult for a beginner to see which hole you were inserting your hook because your finger was in the way when starting Round 3. Also, after completing the 4 rounds of dc in each stitch for the preemie hat, the instructor was making a newborn hat and started showing how to complete the newborn hat. From then on, the video was showing how to complete the newborn hat, but never mentioned what to do for the preemie hat after the 4 rounds. So, I picked up when the boarder was being made for the newborn hat. My finished hat was 3" high and approximately 9-10" in circumference using a tape measure. The video did not show how to make the pom pom or how to attach it, so I just made my own. I did go to the website and print out the instructions for future use. Thanks a bunch for sharing. It was a great learning experience.

    • @laurawilliams7146
      @laurawilliams7146 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      At the beginning of round 4 she explained that if you were making a premie hat, to start doing the dc rounds for the length you want your cap. For the newborn size, do 1 more row of increase. (3 single dc, 2dc together). Then row 5 was the start of dc all the way around for desired length. I do believe she said 9 rows.

    So if I am using a 6 size yarn, would I just the the crochet that is recommended on yarn ball?

    • @keepfxckinggoing
      @keepfxckinggoing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      size 6 yarn would be quite bulky for a baby. Unless its a photo prop I would use a 4 weight yarn. If you use size 6 with the recommended hook from the label, It'll turn out to be an adult hat.

    • @keepfxckinggoing
      @keepfxckinggoing  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      A H. No worries, you just need to count at the end of each round. It's tedious but worth it. You are probably sneaking a stitch at the end. Many beginners sneak a last stitch into the beginning chain stitches. Good luck, don't give up!

      Margaret McNeil I would use the recommended hook size for your yarn and just add an additional increase row.

    Hi, I’m in the middle of this pattern and you skipped from four rows To six....???

    • @keepfxckinggoing
      @keepfxckinggoing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't had a comment about this yet, so without rewatching. I probably said to repeat row 4 for another round, pause the video and play when you've finished that instruction. Watching me crochet a row exactly the same creates a very lengthy video with information you don't really need. So just go ahead and repeat row 4 and pick up with row 6 instructions.

    I'm so confused, I followed your instructions properly (I have the subtitles on too because I am deaf) and no matter what I do, I still only end up 21 stitches on that second row instead of 23, where the hell am I going wrong?! I'm trying to make some hats for charity, but I can't get past the second row at the minute!! So frustrating! Please can you help because I am seriously confused!
    Thanks! Xxxx

    • @keepfxckinggoing
      @keepfxckinggoing  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tracey Kitchen you are probably missing the first stitch, I go into the same stitch in the beginning or the last stitch. If you get 21 though, you could just switch a hook size bigger and it'll work at 21 stitches lol. :) don't give up friend!

    • @shellyslioneyes
      @shellyslioneyes 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tracey: STITCH COUNTERS WORK GREAT. I had the same problem & I truly feel your pain. Put a different colored piece of yarn or a small safety pin through the chain at the beginning of your new row on the first stitch. It helps immensely. Then you don't have to count again until your at end of that row and you can recount when you come to that stitch marker just to verify. I was trying to make small toys and to where I was only going around and around only 12 stitches but making rounds of 40 and was so FRUSTRATED. I promise you, STITCH MARKERS HELP SO MUCH. THEY EVEN SELL LITTLE LOCKS at JoAnne Fabrics for like $3.99 in a pkg of like 20 pieces. It has helped me immensely. I hope this is helpful. Don't give up fellow crocheter. :) Your friend, Shelly.

    This is just the job. At the moment hundreds of people in the UK are knitting 'fish and chip jumpers' and baby beanies for babies born to destitute families in Africa and in refugee camps. These new borns are often sent home wrapped in newspaper, hence 'fish and chip babies' then 'fish and chip jumprs.' Crocheting the beanies will b e much quicker so I can make more. If you want to know more just Google Fish and Chip jumpers. Pinterest has several photos and the pattern is also on line.
