- "We're Committed To Building Ourselves For Revolution" is a Kampuchean (Khmer Rouge) revolutionary song written in the 1970s during the existence of the state of Democratic Kampuchea. The song celebrates Cambodian leader, Pol Pot, the revolution of the Khmer Rouge against Lon Nol and the victory of April 17th, and encourages the Khmer people to better themselves for future revolutionary successes.

Khmer Rouge were doing a civil war for quite a some time,against the enemy, supported by US, who was very prone to bomb into stone age(Vietnam suffered _way_ less, because it got Soviet aid in terms of anti-air). Khmer people have seen only how red economics (they had deliberate system of collective farming) allowed them not to die out, and didn't turn them into debt slaves (real thing)

1) industry (thx US bombings)
2) thus, vacant jobs in the town
As a result, the only way to get starting capital was to send everyone to restore fields (thx US bombings, especially agent Orange) and grow rice.

That's not the Khmer Rouge flag, that's the MONATIO flag, the nationalist movement that supported the Khmer Rouge, they were later executed.

@@arrogleinadtra Because they were ex-military of the prior Governments such as the Monarchy and later the Khmer Republic. They were intially tolerated at first by the Khmer Rouge but their uniforms were very clean, more in uniform with the prior Government, didn't suffer much from diseases unlike the Khmer Rouge which were more in uniform (Since they wore black, and red or blue pattern scarfs) and were dirty because they were fighting inside the Jungles.
MONATIO was set up to be a seperate but welcoming faction for the Communists but were accussed of being spies and collaborators for the CIA and could've possibly take the Communists from within, so they were executed because of it. They thought they would be given the same type of welcoming treatment to the new government, quickly rounded up shortly after.
