New Religious Movements: Introduction

This video is intended as a non-comprehensive introduction to some of the themes from religious traditions that are typically called "New Religious Movements." Focusing on key terms, like "utopianism," millenarianism," "dispensationalism," and "adventism," Dr. Konden Smith Hansen discusses themes that unite these movements under the NRM rubric as "Redemptive Societies." Additionally, Smith Hansen briefly discusses the American and Christian perspectives that provide the foundations for these concepts.
