Death certificate is in the top five albums of all time . It was gangsta but intellectual and people are really sleeping on this album even the album cover is classic
DJ Pooh is a low key creative genius. A lot of people overlook him when mentioning film and music because he's so low key, but his credits are significant. Co-writer of Friday, director and co-writer of 3 Strikes and The Wash, all three are classics. Not to mention his extensive production history going all the way back to 1987 with L.L. Cool J As cliche as the term has become, the guy is a legend.
DJ Pooh - Bad Newz travels fast_ that album is a classic in Southern Cali/Los Angeles in the 90s & one of my fav west coast albums of all time- banged it daily when I lived out there
Dom, what you know about that yungsta!!! W. C. and Coolio rapped their asses off on that muhfukkin' classic!!! "Dress Code" "Ghetto Serenade" "You Don't Work..." Classic!!!
Soren, you are a living legend. I really admire the passion and love you have for the culture. This channel deserves much more attention. “Black Korea” was based on the killing of a young black girl named Latasha Harlans. She was unjustly killed by a Korean grocer who was later acquitted of murder. The store had been robbed numerous times leading up to Latasha’s death, and Koreans in South Central were increasingly on edge. This led to tension between the races that eventually culminated in shootouts during the LA riots. Korean store owners also banned the sale of St Ides malt liquor, for whom Ice Cube was a spokes person.
A Bird in a Hand is the first Hip hop song i ever Memorized. Till this day its my all time favorite Rap song and i had dreams of rapping it to Ice Cube.
Jinx was a beast....his limitations he spoke on we didn’t even notice back in the day... Even when Jinx did “Release Date” for Xzibit he was STILL beasting..

U have to respect Sorens' passion for this W/C G shit. He wasn't nowhere near the set but was definitely tapped in & now clearly connected & fully respected
Jinx and Pooh, should get more credit as producers. When u think about it, they've produced some of the greatest albums ever. Death Certificate is definitely one of them. It's one of my two all time favs. Cube even credited Jinx on coaching him on rhyming. That's an incredible accompaniment, especially when Cube is arguably one of the greatest MC's of all time. His delivery is so good, he can flow to any beat!!!
I loved this album. Dj Pooh is definitely my OG. I remember he did the song "Can this be real". By King T. I was trying to get Jinx to let me write a book about his legacy.

All things considered (Beat selection, production, writing, rebelliousness, food for thought...), Death Certificate is my overall favorite rap album of all time, with Doggystyle & Niggaz4Life tied for second. I love Public Enemy, & Chuck D is my favorite MC of all time, but when we’re talking complete albums from start to finish, I have to give it to Cube. I don’t even like snoop on the mic that much, but Doggystyle is just outstanding sonically.
We hear you, Matthew Coolness. "Death Certificate" is an incredible LP. It's definitely one of the best of all time. Thanks for watching #UniqueAccess.
I love that Jinx is not only a teacher, but a student! To think this this Dre’s cousin! Peace! The bounce on You Can’t Play this always gonna be dope! Peace!

Great channel by the way I would love to see you interview them because they have never really done an in-depth interview yet. They’re supposedly working on Below The Heavens 2 currently.
Classic album. Color Blind is my favorite joint. Threat and Kam are the favorite verses. Bought the album on Halloween in 1991. Look at the album cover and initially thought that NWA really cut off Cube's jheri curl...until I heard the last song
O S L, check out our debate about Who Had The Best Verse On Ice Cube’s “Color Blind?” Here's the link, th-cam.com/video/neY1N_DEQkE/w-d-xo.html. Let us know what you think. That's crazy about Cube's curl. Thanks for watching #UniqueAccess.

That's quite the high school, Relic 186. Sir Jinx has definitely had his hand in some of the best rap albums created. Thanks for watching #UniqueAccess.
In the early 90's it was all about the artist for me...Amerikkkas Most and Death Certificate changed my life. It wasnt until the mid to late 90's that I became interested in who made the beats. I eventually became so obsessed I would get an album and read the liner notes during first listen... It wasnt until later on looking back on those albums that I realized that Sir Jinx was one of the guys who transformed my life and the reason music became my life. Beats became the star to me. Sir Jinx - Dr Dre - Dj Quik - Mike Dean - N.O. Joe - Pimp C... These guys made the music to my life. On a side note I looked up Next Mans Treasure on Amazon...Which is The Shit by the way!!! Sir JinX & Crazy Toones(rip) Alladdin , BattleCat & Jellyroll never get enough credit for their fire ass production skills in my opinion..they were the REAL sound of the southern cali streets
Death Certificate is the greatest rap album of all time. Monster beats. Killer bars. Great songs through in through. Cube was at his best no doubt. His flow was fluid, He never once bragged about his mic skills or how dope he was as a rapper. He just spoke on what's going on and It was ghetto journalism at it's finest. The writing was more focused, Balanced, Creative, funny, engaging, cinematic, thoughtful, comprehensive and to the point. All the things great literature had. The stories kept you glued. The jokes and gags landed perfectly. ("We're gonna do you like King."...."What gawd damn King?"....) The rhymes and flow kept you engaged and how the songs flowed into each other was a thing of beauty. It had this kinetic cinematic quality to it that I have yet to hear replicated. It's an experience unto itself. Cube really delivered on that piece.
I was a Junior in High School when Death Certificate released. Changed my life. One of 10 most impactful albums to me. To me, way better than Amerikkka’s most wanted. Fight me.
I 💘 Yolanda's 1st album. I bought a cassette & 💿 copy of this album which I proudly still have in prestine condition to this very minute! "Make Way For The Motherlode" is a friggin masterpiece in my humble opinion. I just feel sorry for those who absolutely slept on this album way back in 1991! Shame on ALL y'all fools who missed out on adding this classic debut album by Yo-Yo & The I.B.W.C to YOUR INCOMPLETE MUSIC COLLECTION during these trying times. ✌😷 "LenchMob I hate your ass!"-Ricky Harris_RIP

Listening to Sir Jinx and Ice Cube's Productions on "Death Certificate", you can hear the influence and techniques of Eric Sadler and The Bomb Squad in their music. Pooh's production was more stripped down and sharp while Cube & Jinx's was layered and dusty.

Hmmmm, Keith Johnson. We thought they were both great on there. Thanks for watching #UniqueAccess.
@@UniqueAccessEnt they were both great in there own right short is more of a game spitting rapper cube is a lyricist so this is probably just a matter of taste
Death certificate is probably the best HipHop album
because it brings balance to hiphop
with a conscious/gangster vibe teetering a thin line 🙌🏽
Well said, banga8080. Check out our #BestAlbums episode with RBX about Ice Cube’s “Death Certificate." Here's the link, th-cam.com/video/IwYUAKvUi8E/w-d-xo.html. Let us know what you think. Thanks for watching #UniqueAccess.
Sir JinX & Crazy Toones(rip) Alladdin , BattleCat & Jellyroll never get enough credit for their fire ass production skills in my opinion..they were the REAL sound of the southern cali streets
Agreed on all fronts, Harley Weedwax. Thanks for watching #UniqueAccess.
^ I cant forget about Mike T & Quik as well
I was blessed to meet this brother in real life, along with BattleCat
You met two of the West's most important producers, ZURI Records. Nice. Thanks for watching & supporting #UniqueAccess.
Jinx was always DOPE! #HistoryLesson
You said it, OriginalBayBoy_ I80. Sir Jinx puts it down. Thanks for watching #UniqueAccess.
Saw Sir Jinx bailin... Ok I've never seen Sir Jinx before now only heard Cube shout him out😂

“Bumpin sir jinx latest miix and u thought that shit played out in 86”
Classic, TEKA MUSIC. Thanks for watching #UniqueAccess.
Fight me.
Yeah, Eugenie Adam. "Death Certificate" is an all-time great. Thanks for watching #UniqueAccess.
Agreed on all fronts, Tone West. That's a great LP. Thanks as always for watching #UniqueAccess.
Unique Access Ent. "Momma Don't Take No Mess!" 💯

I wanna hear about the G-Rap album. My fav Jinx beats are on there
We're going to get those stories the next time Sir Jinx comes through, originalduxd. Thanks for watching #UniqueAccess.
Listening to Sir Jinx and Ice Cube's Productions on "Death Certificate", you can hear the influence and techniques of Eric Sadler and The Bomb Squad in their music. Pooh's production was more stripped down and sharp while Cube & Jinx's was layered and dusty.
We hear you, Fredicago Illanoise. Check out our #BestAlbums episode with RBX about Ice Cube’s “Death Certificate." Here's the link, th-cam.com/video/IwYUAKvUi8E/w-d-xo.html. Let us know what you think. Thanks for watching #UniqueAccess.

My favourite album by Cube. Had no idea DJ Pooh was involved with the project.
Wow... did you have the album? His name was in the booklet..
@@praheightsixty8110 dubbed a friend's cassette, I wouldve read the notes too.....was only 12/13 at the time.....but had no idea who Pooh was anyway, not until Friday, lol.
Pat Cruising We are around the same age and I had already saw Pooh’s name on Bigger and Deffer by LL Cool J..I got that LL when I was 7-8..
