I have the ultimate mixing set and I absolutely love it. I love the small plastic palette most of all. TH-camrs don't know how to use the palette so they bitched and complained about it, but actual field paintings, plein air, urban etc love it. Because they know how to use it. The palette wasn't designed to suit on a desk. The colors are absolutely perfect for mooching anything and everything. I bought every Daniel Smith field at they had and I got them for ten bucks a peice because youtubers complained so much about them, DS was getting rid of them to make room for the metal palette. I got 68 half pans, cases and paints for $50.00. So I guess I owe great thanks to youtubers lol. I hope you enjoy your DS paints and palette. Even if it can't hold 15 colors in the palm of your hand. I love that I can put my 15 colors palette, sketchbook, waterbrush all in one back pocket and it takes up less girth than my wallet. That way I have my plein air kit with me always. Never leave home without it. I also haven't paid a doctor bill since. Because I started painting with it in the dr.'s office while waiting. Now I trade paintings for appointments. Too bad the electric company won't do the same lol. Have a great day.
Just a random guy sliding through, have you done any lightfast testing on these? I know there had been some controversy as to whether DS was actually being honest about the lightfastness of their colors. Just curious what you may have noticed.
I have not done any lightfastness on these however I have made some peonies many years ago and have them in my studio Out of the direct sunlight but they seem to be holding up well and it is Quin rose and sap green.
