The reason the odds are bad is because the only prizes are the ones on the tickets. Ya have to sell 10 just to pay one prize and 50 for another. Can't win every time.

With a 50 dollar option I have no clue why that ticket still has odds of 8:29 odds.

As some others pointed out, since they don't have any of the tiny prizes, odds are all whacky

In the $50, $100, $500 ticket, the odds are so bad, because the lottery has to make up the winnings of the higher prizes, and there are no break-even prizes. And if you do win a prize, you know you're getting at least a $40 profit.
