It is never to late to take care of yourself. In this ground-breaking talk, Dr Lisa Mosconi presents ground-breaking science revealing how to protect the female brain from dementia.
Women’s brains age distinctly from men’s, due mostly the decline of a key brain-protective hormone: estrogen. Of the 1 million Brits projected to suffer from dementia by 2025, two-thirds will be women - but until now the majority of research to date has focused instead on the male brain.
Dr Lisa Mosconi is here to change that. A leading expert on the prevention of Alzheimer’s and the director of the Women’s Brain Initiative at Wells Cornell Medical College, she joined us to share the latest scientific insights into how, through lifestyle changes and preventative medicine, women can reduce the risk of developing dementia.
Dr Mosconi introduces cutting-edge, evidence-based methods for protecting the female brain, encompassing diet, stress reduction and sleep.

Lisa Mosconi gives great information but this is a great interview because of the interviewer. She asks the right questions in right times. Also refrains from telling what she thinks/knows about the topics.

Oh, wow! The interviewer didn't answer the question about if she does yoga. Brought the conversation back to the topic. I'm subscribing to the channel. :)

It is not only oestrogen - the doctors should start talking about neurotransmitters like DOPAMINE, which declines with age and is extremely important to our thinking and wellbeing. Unfortunately, there are no ways to increase the level of dopamine in the brain (some doctors recommend "sunshine and bananas", but this is cosmetics only).

You absolutely can increase the dopamine in your brain! Trying new things or exciting things is a great place to start. Think novelty or gamification or competition. Those of us with ADHD know a lot of the tricks to increasing dopamine. :)

Gee whiz. So many empty niceties/words. I am starving here for a few facts. The interviewer did a fine job, but this scientist really needs to get to the point. I fear she repeats many of the same findings in all of her presentations, and they are few and far between.
