My exam is in a bit under 12 hours. Thanks for making this video! I definitely should have gone over things earlier, but this recap should be enough to land me a good score.
@@milms3956Sorry, but I just now finished, so you’re already taking it I assume. It was relatively easy. It’s the same as every past AP test, so if you compré this one to 2023’s test, it’s the same format. I can’t really say anything specific, sorry.
the area slices in polar @2:58 are actually because of sectors of a circle, not triangle. You can't get 1/2 r^2 dtheta from the triangle formula, but you can get it from sector of a circle formula. area of circle is pir^2 but we only have (dtheta/[2pi]) fraction of the circle, so the area of our slice is 1/2 r^2 dtheta
You can get it both ways, but I don't think it really matters. It is an infinitesimal piece which isn't really either part of a circle or a triangle. It's only "approximately" either one of those things.
@@AllenTsaoSTEMCoach the point is you cannot get 1/2 r^2 from the triangle way. area of a triangle is 1/2 b*h. The height of your infinitesimal piece is r, but the base doesn't really work because it is a curved base. It's similar to why the arc length formula is integrating along the line and why the surface area formula includes arc length in its formula. Doesn't really matter cuz most high school students don't care and the triangle thing is a common misunderstanding.
@user-ll1ow4xf8n it's not necessarily a curved base. What if it's a straight line like r = 1/cos(theta)? Can we not use the equation for area anymore? You're approximating it as a portion of a curved path. It's still an approximation where the error goes to 0 as the slice shrinks to 0. But it's not necessarily curved as part of a circle
happy to see comments showing im not the only one fried for the exam tomorrow

Doesn’t a particle speed up if the acceleration is positive? Kinda confused between the two concepts
So if the velocity is negative, then it goes faster by accelerating in the negative direction (makes the velocity more negative).
i havent started studying yet :(
yeah it’s so over for me 😭🙏
