How to Break 75 off the Pro Tees Without Driver

  • golfsidekick.c... for the supplementary article with a few more tips in it.
    I played Gary Player Country Club at Sun City with Didi and his family. It's a tough track that they play the Nedbank Golf Challenge on. Long, unforgiving and filled with optical illusions, it's quite a challenge.

    The focus on golf for 2019 and my future how to break 80 and how to break 90, how to break 100 series will be focused on reducing the stress and pressure you place on yourself to break these made up barriers.
    There will be a big emphasis on selecting the right shots, leaving the right shot into greens, leaving a decent chip and more instruction on the short game. You're either on this train or you're off it because it's moving forward, stomping ass and taking names.
    Handicaps are dropping this year. Don't get left behind with another mediocre season of the same scores you've shot for the last 5 years. Take my advice, try it out and then report back. Adapt it to your own game and shoot the lights out.
    LOL, here is a disclaimer because I am expecting the following issues to be brought up:
    1. Yes the Gary Player Country Club easiest course in the world and I know already, I must come to Japan for a real test of golf.
    2. I teed off the white on hole 1 because the starter didn't want me teeing off the back. I teed off on 14 off the whites because my caddie forgot to tell me to walk another way. It was 60 yards back and I couldn't be bothered to walk all the way around again (200 yard walk to hold up play)
    3. My short game sucked today because I left myself impossible shots.
    4. The rough, according to my caddie, Happy, was longer than at the Nedbank Challenge held 5 weeks prior.

    Course management/safe landing zones✅
    Cut the b.s - no flop shots/hit sensible ✅
    I am 35 and a 22 handicap. Never had a lesson but played most of my life. Dont hit handicap ever. Play once a week normally and dont practice at all.
    Since starting again a few days ago, 4 rounds 4 days nothing for the 8 weeks .....

    Drained 3 big bastards for birdies! Putter was on fire. Thats a great round on a tough course from the hardest tees. You have talked about stress free rounds forever, but it never really sinks in. This time, for some reason, I "understood" what you mean. It's not playing well that removes the stress, it's removing the stress that helps you play well. That involves letting go of the wheel and stop trying to steer every last detail. Very difficult to do and no doubt a product of years of effort. When you feel that theres no reason you can't go out and shoot par today, your expectations become unreasonable and disaster is usually waiting. Great video bro.

      @@GolfSidekickHi Matt, yes we will! ;-) I've been practising so hard in the off season I'm dead excited for spring to arrive! If you don't mind (and maybe it helps to have another view), this is my opinion on 10-15: 10 was a lovely up and down. 11 beautifully played (that six iron baby!). 12 unlucky bogie. 13 the mishit flop cost a bogie (but not really many other options so this is fine). 14 nice. 15 - possibly not enough length off the tee leaving a really long approach? -- So actually, I feel that was a great performance, even on the holes you didn't like so much. It just happens that even very good golfers have a few awkward holes. And you are certainly a very good golfer. All the best from Germany!

    I shoot high 70s consistently because I hit my hybrid any direction I want 215-230 yards 90% of the time, I do just as you said and aim for the green and play stress free. I am in high school and always place in tournaments and never ever hit driver people don’t understand 2 good 200 -250 yard shots and you are around the green in 2 on any par 5, unless you plan on going pro if you have a bad driver don’t use it in tournaments until you’ve got it mastered never feel like you have to

    This guy is real good, he's got that 200 yd shot down. I got to get that going more often. I'm getting to the mid 70s at my local course, but not always. Which is a lot easier than this course he's playing. But I really like his attitude. Though, he doesn't have swing flaws, and his ball flight is nice. This is going to help, he makes it simple.

    • @GolfSidekick
      @GolfSidekick  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      LOL, dude thanks for the compliments, but I have some bad swing flaws. I flip the ball up in the air which is okay on this course, but if there is any wind, I am screwed. At this point, I was also at the beginning of changing that problem in my swing. But you're right, it's all about attitude! Thanks for watching playa

      Swing changes and picking up game-crippling swing tips from strangers on TH-cam who are just as lost as we are will end in disaster. These people will find their way to the light and we will share in the world's collective handicap.

      I always played a 5 wood then decided to lower it to 17 degree. I dont see much use for amateurs and 15 degree clubs i might try one but since I bought this srixon 2 iron, I dont see myself stocking up on too many woods. I may look at a 16 degree.
      Ive kicked the hybrid and fairway wood out. May put one back when I can get something to go 250.

    Interesting that you need to use the bigger muscles exclusively in putting. I find that I need to involve my wrists in the long game if I want power but they are a liability for putting. It's true in tennis too...the serve involves the pronation of the wrist, but wristy volleys (when you are close to the net and taking the ball out of the air) are a no no.

    • @GolfSidekick
      @GolfSidekick  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the green speed. Often the slow greens below 8 on the stimp meter, you can putt with almost any style as long as it gets to the hole cutting out a lot of break because of the power needed. On faster pure greens, it’s easier to develop a solid technique
