@DIA Guys This right here is GOLD... Not only did you illustrate ALL necessary steps to remove the headlights, but you also illustrated ALL necessary steps to remove the front bumper; If you only knew how many WEEKS I've been scouring TH-cam for this information as everyone else seems to rush & skip around different parts of the process rather than showing the FULL step by step process & showing ALL bolts that need to be removed. While I truly wish the GRILLE could be removed without removing the entire front bumper (I have a custom grille that I'll be re-painting & installing shortly), I will say that the headlights CAN indeed be removed by simply removing the 2 "underside" 10MM bolts at each end of the bumper, followed by the 3 10MM headlight bolts shown in the video & the 2 10MM "upper grille" bolts closest to each end of the grille. You just have to gently pry out the grille a tad (at each end) & also gently pry down each end of the bumper (simply using something to pry it open as you remove each headlight). Probably a lil tougher gettin em out/back in that way, but less time consuming than removing the entire front bumper & I pulled it off during a recent "test run" (prior to purchasing another set of headlights for my 2012 in the coming months). Thanks for posting, this was GREAT!

Thanks for the comment and for watching. I'm glad it was helpful for you. Good to know there is an alternate way. I always get a little concerned about prying on anything plastic, especially when it is old, but I can see where the method you described would save time.

I took a look and tried this. You can definitely get to all of the bolts securing the headlight without removing the bumper and grill. The issue I had is removing the headlight after the bolts were out. There were some features of the headlight that would not let it come out very easily (they are behind the grill) and I was concerned about damaging the paint or the headlight in the process. I've actually taken the bumper and grill off the car so many times now I can do it (with an electric driver) really quickly. Thanks for viewing and commenting!

@@dia_guys Good ideas for me to try, what's missing is the installation of the actual replacement light bulb. My 2007 Escalade has HID bulbs, after you get the headlight out your facing a strange looking bulb. The replacement does not have the "grid" needed to install the new bulb, this has to be removed from the old bulb. The task is figuring out how to remove the existing grid and attach to the new bulb.

@@brucemoore711 In my case we ended up having to replace the whole headlight assembly after trying this fix. See my channel for this video (2009 Cadillac Escalade ESV Headlight Replacement). I’m not sure I understand what you mean by “grid”. I recall removal of the headlight bulb being removal of the cover from the rear of the headlight assembly, an electrical plug you remove from the bottom of the bulb, and a quarter turn to remove the bulb from the socket (see the video at 16:40 where I describe this process). In the video we swapped the driver bulb to the passenger headlight assembly to validate the bulb was good. This lead us to the ballast as the issue. If you can describe what you mean by “grid” more I’ll try to help.

@@dia_guys Hi, my Hi/Low bulb on the passenger side went out. I replaced the bulb, but still doesn't work. Could it be the Ballast and if so, is it the metal box the bulb is connect to?
