  • getconnectedmedia.com - Whether you're an athlete, late-night stroller, or office worker, Bone Conduction headphones are something you should consider - but how exactly do they work, and is this offering from SHOKZ enough to sway you towards buying a pair? In this review, Robin goes through the pros, cons, and whether they're worth it for you!
    Recently SHOKZ did rebrand from "AFTERSHOKZ", so that's why the title and branding don't match up 100%.

    I've had these for over a year and have Zero complaints. The cost was high yes, but well worth it. They are light weight but strong with the open ear concept. I drive a semi truck and have to be aware of what is going on around me at all times. 👍

    I've struggled with regular earbuds for years. Unfortunately, both my inner ear cavities are different, so one set may fit fine in one ear while they hurt the other and I'm constantly having to adjust them, and ive tried all brands. These headsets solved that issue entirely since they don't have to sit in your ear. It's the best money I've ever spent. The mic cancelation really doesn't work as well as I'd like, it does let a lot of sound in, but for music listening and, as mentioned, being aware of your surroundings, they're great. I would highly recommend. Also, they're selling on Amazon, as of today, for under $140. Definitely worth the cost.

    Most accurate description of bone conduction I've come across yet. Great review - thanks. I don't have hearing loss but I do suffer from discomfort, swelling and the occasional ear infection brought on by extensive use of over-ear and in-ear headphones at my work. A lot of business is conducted via MS Teams, Zoom, etc rather than in person nowadays and after testing these out I will be getting a pair to use at work.

    Biking on a very rainy day (with helmet), would this level of wetness pose any problems? And calling while biking, would that work fine?

    Greay video! But its not working the same for me right now. I'm on my 3rd replacement because the "soundproof mic" isn't clear. Colleagues and friends tell me that they can hear my background. Is there something I'm missing? A setting I need to turn on? Shokz has been great with the customer service, and i really want to use these, but if I dont solve this mic situation, I don't know...

    I LOVE LOVE LOVE these headsets. I lost my first one in the office last Friday... Ordered a new one right away. Can't live without it. I have tried many other headsets. They either hurt my skull and my ears (because we are on calls nonstop these days for work). This is the only headset that I have use for a long period of time. Highly recommend!

    Great review! I own a pair, and I love, love, LOVE them because they let me enjoy music and still hear what’s going on around me without that annoying, occlusion effect. When people come up to talk with me, I don’t have to take anything out of my ear. I can just mute them or flip them around my neck temporarily.
    As an audiologist I take comment with your final comment in the video. These devices do not bypass your inner-ear. They bypass your outer and middle ears. You are actually hearing with your inner ears. :)

    Ok... I have a problem. I have some of these. My problem is; when im on the phone with anybody, they're always telling me; they can't hear me. Talk close to the mic. When i turn them off, people can heare crystal clear now.
    Ok. What am i doing wrong ?

    This is the least I think, I have been searching for in air , like the air buds but their commercial Bluetooth sucks, but this seems to be pretty decent, I will give it a shot cause so far I have not found wireless ear bud with great quality for answering calls, I have 500USD headset but having them all day long , it's really tired, so let's see with this one

    What about any difference in call quality if connected with PC for Zoom calls?

    • @getconnectednow
      @getconnectednow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The main difference in audio quality we noticed when using Zoom was the enhanced noise cancellation provided by the software.

    At this moment, I am wearing cheap bone conductiion headphone. I am really interested in buying the Opencomm, please allow me to ask you 1 question, have you ever tried wearing Opencomm while lying on the back like sleeping or seat on the couch with the head (neck) lazy againts the couch? Cause I'm thinking of wearing this on a flight also. Thank you..

    • @getconnectednow
      @getconnectednow  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! I just tried it out and depending on your head size, you may find it uncomfortable. You can see in our intro section that the head band juts out from my neck and this is quite a rigid material so I found that when lying down it was being pushed forward. To be honest I wouldn't really recommend these for a flight as you're still going to hear everything around you and may struggle to hear whatever you're listening to!

    No-one is going to walk ary with a microphone sticking out of the side of thier head. I have the Open Move and they are fine surprised at how good sound is. The only thing I've found is that the position of the ' transducers' infront of ones ears is critical otherwise the sound stage seems to be more over to the right. And just the slightest movement of the transducer can upset the soundstage balance. Otherwise the song quality can be surprisingly good with little bass though. Female voices sound especially good.

    Just returned mine. You forgot to mention the super annoying and loud mute beep every 5 seconds if you press +/- on the headset to mute. These are wireless why on earth would you want to mute/unmute a teams/zoom call by running back to your desk? Epic fail on a $200 product.

  • @TheTruthseeker707

    Warning. I bought them and I have 2 issues. First, they tickle where they sit at. Depending on the sound the tickling or vibration of the speakers will vary. Second, they are not for environments that have a lot of noise due to the fact that your ears are not covered and you can hear everything thing. I am trucker and they are no good for me but these were recommended by a trucker and he likes them. You will have to try them to see if they are good for you.

    • @getconnectednow
      @getconnectednow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers for the input! The tickle and positioning is certainly subjective as I didn't encounter any tickle, but certainly something to keep in mind if you're in the market! And I totally agree, these aren't great if you're in a loud environment, but as I mentioned in the video there is a mode you can switch to while using ear plugs to make the headphones a little more audible.

      well i think that's not true cause my aftershokz (one generation before Aeropex) was failed after almost 2 years of utilization (23-months) and the warranty is 24-months since the purchase date. Then i emailed them and share the issue, they asked some things for checking the authenticity of the unit I have and asked for the issue, and then they gave some advices to fix the problem, I followed but the problem was not solved. Next email I got from the Customer Service was they asked for my home address, and the next 4-days, I received the brand new unit replacement with the same model and color. no more available support to fix the issue but one to one replacement instead. That's my experience with Shokz. ou, I live in Indonesia btw and the customer service who handled me that time was in the US. 4-days of shipment and headset was received without any fee/tax i need to pay as it's been covered by the sender, that's really awesome and a peace of mind to have this kind of device.

      what i do to have extension warranty when i buy the opencomm UC. reason i get the UC version so when using MS TEAMS from laptop is more stable and it will have future proof investment when opencomm add feature to TEAMS with hardware (hardware connected to laptop is worth it) .
      Now back to warranty , openncomm have2 years warranty by default so ensure you register your unit when purchase. as for me i include 2 more years extension from the Big name retail store having 2 more years warranty after openncomm ( total 4 yrs) to have piece of mind. i only paid for USD 20 for another 2 yrs extension warranty for for the opencomm UC version
