Garibaldi are super beautiful, the juveniles are even more vibrant :) I always like to spread knowledge to those who are interested, even if some of it is just fun facts about different types of fish :D
Glad you enjoyed Fish, it was an great day for fishing as always haha. Nothing beats the fresh air c: and its always good to talk about safety and regs incase anyone needs to know :D
And I do agree, fishing in OC is more hit or miss than anything, most surfperch caught are also super smol, let’s see if it does get better in the winter though c:
Here are a few hints, it's relatively close to Point Loma and Ocean Beach. Fair warning, it is also close to the Cabrillo State Marine Reserve which is a type of Marine Protected Area where fishing and collecting of any marine resources is banned. Check with a regulations map, as long as you're not fishing in the SMR you're good to go! There's no shortage of beautiful spots along the Point Loma Peninsula though c:

Check with a regulations map, anywhere that isn't in the Marine Protected Area is prime fishing spots :D

Sunset cliffs are really good when it’s winter! Use size 6 hooks and put green peas as bait! instant opaleye
Thanks for the heads up! I might make that my next trip sometime because we still have the oil spill fishing advisory in OC xP
Lol, I was there the last weekend, the pier is safe in terms of the oil, I caught 150 mackerel in 5 hrs lol
Fishing isn’t that good in oc tho, it will be better in the winter with opaleye and bass and maybe perch
Nice man! That’s a lot of macaroni for 5 hours haha, glad to hear they’re still around in ample numbers :D
