It started with the corporations. These winds and the abnormally dry winter that led to all the dry bush is a direct result of climate change. Everyone looking for someone to blame as if fire crews would have been able to contain these fires if there was more funding or if more LA City water supply have enabled folks using their hoses to save their homes.
Much of Southern California is built on chaparral and desert. Sooner or later there will be natural disasters just as hurricanes periodically destroy parts of New Orleans.

Gavin Newsome had nothing to do with the fire in the Pacific Palisades . . . Why is it that every time there is a disaster, it becomes "Politician WWE Smackdown" . . . I feel bad for the kid with the burnt down school, because her Mom isn't around to comfort her -- she is too busy trying to get on TV with the Governor . . . . BTW, I live 5 miles from Pacific Palisades. It's sad that social media is trying to exploit this tragedy for their own selfish causes.

I feel for these people. The ordinary people. This is tragic. But come on. Why is it time and time again California fails her people? How can Florida manage back to back hurricanes and California again and again has fire problems, problems from crime, homelessness, lack of water and power, lack of housing and opportunities for people. You guys have some of high taxes in the country!!! This will only happen again. You have to change California or this is just going to hurt everyone. I’m sorry but California is a failed state. You have to change or it’s only going to get worse.

First of all, the Los Angeles water system wasn’t designed to withstand a disaster of this magnitude!! Anyone with common sense would understand that…. We have NEVER had Santa Ana winds up to 100mph. If a home burns to the ground, the plumbing is shutoff, due to the pipes melting, the water pressure is going to drop or become nonexistent!

Secondly, you prepare for these events .
When Newsom ran for governor, he promised preparations for events like this. In 2014 before he was governor millions of dollars were set aside to make sure there was enough reserve/ reservoir water in case an event like this and nothing has happened or been done there. He took away funding and tax breaks for pastoral animals to be used to clear brush.
The failure of a CEO is lack of preparedness.
