Yea, they worked so hard to make their houses fireproof. Sort of like how the obese work so hard to learn how to eat naturally. It's not any of their faults. Next year it will be the same. Nobody knew fires could happen in the desert.
Of all the celebrities I have seen grieve the loss of their homes, Eric Braeden's lamentation has effected me the most. He is so genuine, but still masculine. My darling cried, and in true Victor Newman fashion, said that he did not want his family to see that. My prayers are for you and all who lost so much in the fires. May God bless you all.
But he has a good life Probably so it's not so painful to lose materialistic things since he can't take it with him after he dies He looks old, you can see
@@Lynn-dw4gj He's actually lived an extraordinary life. He survived WWII in Germany, he came to the US and started over, he was diagnosed with advanced bladder cancer nearly two years ago and survived. He's one of those rare Hollywood actors who has been married to his college sweetheart for almost 59 years. His nearly 84 years on this earth haven't always been easy and a bed of roses, but he is a fighter who has overcome the odds again and again. Now he and his wife have lost their home of 45 years, but knowing him and the fighter he's always been I'm sure he'll rebuild his home and rise from the ashes as he's done in the past.
Out of all the celebrities I've seen crying, victor newman has actually made me feel horrible. He's such a kind, generous guy that treats people fair. I hope he rebuilds better than ever
We lost everything in a house fire many years ago. People meant well when they said it’s just stuff. That didn’t help. Your home is your safe place away from the world. Having that gone suddenly is trauma.

I too lost my home to a brush fire in 1986. It feels like a violation to lose everything that way. Then the fight with insurance, cleanup, finding a place to stay and construction(if you choose) is all a huge toll. It changes a bit of you forever. This is the time to love one another and help where you can.
You can see why he has been on television for so long. He’s strong, takes care of himself. I’m glad he’s with Kevin, who’s very respectful and sensitive to the people he interviews.
I lost my home on 18 October 2024 to a fire and I have been very calm about it because I lost only things. I am still alive. And starting over at 72 allows me to rebuild my life very small. I have yet to go into the ashes after the first time. I lost original photographs 72 years old plus photos of my great grandparents of 1866. All clothing, jewelry, antique furniture everything. But I am alive. God be praised for that.
I am sincerely deeply sorry for your incredible loss. ❤ I sincerely wish for you all the success in rebuilding your life. When they say “home is where the heart is” it’s true. I cannot to even begin to imagine how devastating it is, especially to lose irreplaceable items such as your Great-Grandparents’ photos. However, regardless of space, big or small, will become your home ❤ Much peace and love you ❤🕊️
He is such a nice man in person. I met him when I was working in a hotel in Toronto about 30 years ago. He is charming. I am so sorry Eric for you and your family.
💔The video of that poor little baby mule deer crying as it trotted, stopped, & walked aimlessly in the smoke on the road, before trotting again, haunts me.💔 Just so lost, looking around for anything to help it!💔 I cannot believe no one tried to help that helpless little baby, separated from its mother!😭 No way could I have videoed that & kept going! That would have come in my SUV!!! And delivered to a shelter. It probably didn’t make it.💔😭
Brought me to tears... NOT "Victor's" home of 45 years... ALL that Y&R memorabilia, In the show, he rebuilt the home he and Nickie lost in a fire....God Bless you and your family Eric...

While of two minds about this fire, I know one thing is for sure no one should lose their homes and precious memories like this (or at all). This is heartbreaking.
My childhood home, my community , my brothers home all burned in the cedar fire. I learned something important, stuff, even homes are just stuff that can be taken away in a second but your memories as long as you keep your health are the only things you can hold on to until you pass.
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal; but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. Matthew 6:19-21

I’ve been a loyal fan since the first day of Young And The Restless and Eric Braeden is like a “friend” to me. I am so very sorry this has happened to him and his family. Stay strong. So many people love you!
I'm in my 50's. Eric has been a part of our lives here since I was a young boy. I am grateful for his strong personality and I couldn't possibly feel any worse for him as I do right now. We love you, God bless you and all those affected by this tragedy. 💜💜
It's not only this beautiful house that was lost, but all the beautiful memories inside this house. Photos, Emmys, awards, paintings, sentimental things, children rooms, eating areas to gather. I know beautiful memories are permanently engraved in their hearts that can never be destroyed. My heart goes out to Eric and his family. May they rebuild and fill their house once again with love & more cherished memories. God Bless you, Eric, your family, and all the people affected by this devastating fire. We are all thinking of you and praying for you all. 🙏 ❤
What a beautiful interview. Really captures how painful losing a home is no matter how much money someone has. A home is more than just things a person/family owns. I noticed he talked about the memories he has of experiences from the home much more than material possessions. One final note - Eric Braeden looks phenomenal at 83. Just a wonderful, emotional segment.
So sorry to hear about your loss. I am glad you and your family are safe. My mother loved the Young and the Restless. She is deceased now so I watch it when I am able. Continued prayers for you, your family, and all of the families that have been affected.
I was crying just watching the devastation on the news and seeing how much these fires have affected everyone including all the actors and actresses that lost their homes in those wildfires ❤❤
This is so sad… whether you’re rich poor famous or not it doesn’t matter your home is your home. God bless you Eric and everyone else who’s lost their homes & cherish belongings.
I've gotten surprisingly emotional just moving out of dorm rooms and apartments that i thought i didn't even give a crap about. It would just hit you. The finality. The memories. The change. All of it. That was after a few months or a couple of years. It must be mind boggling after 45 years! Especially seeing it completely destroyed.
I can relate to losing everything. I’m so sorry Mr Braeden. My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. I’m thankful you and your family made it out ok. I pray you can grieve the loss of your things and then at some point be able to look back on things fondly. I know it will take a lot of time but you are one strong man! You will always have your memories. That can never be taken from you. ❤️🙏🏼
It’s ok to cry. My parents lost everything in a house fire back in 2006. When my dad got called home from his offshore job. He broke down. My heart hurt for their pain. But at least the survived.
So sorry Eric! I do understand the devastation of losing everything as I lost my home in Hurricane Sandy. I remember the first time seeing my home that although it was still standing 6 foot wave surges entered the home and destroyed everything. We ended up selling off the land eventually because we could not afford to salvage and re-build. I am so sorry for everyone who is going through this. Prayers for you and your family and all who are suffering right now... You will survive it but it takes a lot of strength to move forward and I believe you will... Again, very sorry...
I wish I could give Eric a hug, because it’s heart breaking to see Eric cry, hear his stories about great memories of his house. Then to hear his traumatic memories of growing up in WWII triggering him.

Oh Eric I am so very sorry...My heart breaks for you and your family... Prayers to all who were affected by this horrific tragedy... Our hearts break for you... 😢😢😢💔💔💔..... Poor people....
Some people just don’t understand that it’s not the building that is the house, but the home that people felt that lived in it…the memories! It’s like the heart, it’s what’s inside it that counts….i love watching you on Y&R, but I understand you need to take a temporary break…. I get it.,….butVictor Newman will be back strong! By the way I am the person that made the response back to you when you talked about rude people on x, I said that when I was younger I had to ask permission to be excused from the table, and you said that when your son was younger, when people came to the door they had to ask you permission to see your son!! We can’t forget the memories! Will miss seeing you!
Good luck, you will be the Victor! I’ve been a fan for over 40 years, I hate your character, admire you immensely. Remember seeing you on the Mary Tyler Moore show. You’ve got this brother! You know what it takes to do this, we are behind you 100%.
Watching Eric see his neighborhood for the first time was emotional & felt like an invasion of the heart. It was heartbreaking to witness.. sending love & prayers to ALL those who've lost everything from WV. Bless You All.
OMG, this is so heartbreaking all around, Lahina Hawaii all over again 💔💔, much love & prayers to the Breadon family and all those touched by loss in this tragedy 🥺.
Rich or poor, losing your home is one hell of a gut punch. Sending love and good vibes to everyone in the LA fires.
Well put.
You are right. No matter how rich.
But the rich can rebuild the poor are left off on their own

My heart breaks hearing the news of the various people losing their homes to the devastating fires.
This broke my heart! Lord give them strength! Lord have mercy!
Awww man. You will always have those memories. Now you have to make memories somewhere new😢. Im grateful for his life and his family’s life. GOD is good and he got you covered E. ❤
It’s heartbreaking to see my favorite Y and R character lose his house. Seeing him cry made me cry. Thankful they made it out. When they rebuild it’s going to be beautiful. Stay strong LA!
This is so heartbreaking so many are affected and have lost everything and a lot of people who lost everything have nothing to get it back
I feet so bad for everyone including Eric Braeden who I just love his acting skills, seen him in so many tv shows, such a good person.
Prayers….grew up watching Victor Newman
So sorry for your loss. I didn't know he was 83. He looks great.❤
Oh Eric I am so very sorry...My heart breaks for you and your family...
If you’re reading this: I am so sorry you are going through this 😞 everything is going to be alright. You’re not alone & you survived.

Good luck, you will be the Victor! I’ve been a fan for over 40 years, I hate your character, admire you immensely. Remember seeing you on the Mary Tyler Moore show. You’ve got this brother! You know what it takes to do this, we are behind you 100%.
