  • Writer and Director Alex Garland delivers a look at a dystopian future America that is ravaged by Civil War. The story focuses on a team of military-embedded journalists that races against time to reach Washington D.C. before it falls to rebel forces. Was It Good? See what I had to say about this film. #civilwar #a24 #alexgarland #kirstendunst #review

Just subbed to your channel. I also reviewed this as well. I loved the visuals and sound but, I wasn’t big on the characters.

When you say that some may find it political, is it because just some people will find the concept of fighting among society (and/or the government) a political statement? Or is there potentially points or decisions that just simply have to have a minor stance to further the plot?

It’s not because of any decisions that were made in the film, but more because people often see what they want to see. For example, it’s never mentioned which political party the president belongs to, but it’s obvious that he has tyrannical tendencies. I could see people interpreting that character to represent whoever they want. I’m just anticipating that some people will be reading more into it than what’s there. Hopefully I’m wrong because I found the film to be apolitical and focused more on the consequences of division as opposed to what caused it.
