    At the same day I am happy and sad.. This amazingly important video pups up! Thank you!
    I have understood Stephan Pfaff is now a replacement for Florian Schneider 2008, first in the USA gigs. Florian is a brilliant operator, master of intelligibility on Vocoders..master of studio perfection. I hope he still works in the Kling Klang studio.

    In 1:00, the hippie girl who is in the second row, between the dummy Karl and the dummy Ralf, the blonde who chews gum like a cow chews grass, what the hell is there? It has always surprised me to see the public in the videos of old bands whose members dress in a different way from the rest of the people. One would like to believe that these bands and singers lived in a universe where people dressed, made up and moved like them. In this case, I love Kraftwerk's vesturio, its retrofuturistic aspect, and it is very unpleasant to see its public, it kills my little illusions.

    This is from a TV show called NOSTALGIA, which indicates that it's from the post-Soviet era. The characters are fake cyrillic, so this broadcast is most probably not Russian and not from 1980. Does anyone know where and when this later broadcast was?

    No this is not entirely playback !! Some parts are such as the mais synth bass that goes throughout the whole song. But the drums and the lead synth are not playback. The voice though seems oddly similar to the album version.

    I thought the U.S.S.R. had a strict ban on music and art from Western Europe

    • @LawnMeower
      @LawnMeower 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      true.. maybe this was an exception because the album the man-machine was a bit inspired by the russian constructivism

    • @tylerreiske7810
      @tylerreiske7810 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I always thought the album man machine was meant to mock communism, only because its lyrics are so plain, but then I listened to kraftwerk more, and realized all their lyrics are simple and straight forward

    • @yorganyog
      @yorganyog 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There was a list with artists banned as well the reason. Not all western culture was prohibited.

  • @warminator1091
    @warminator1091 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    The thing that allways thrills me about kraftwerk is, that they were far, far ahead of their time.

    Love the irony of the older generation being the ones that can appreciate synthesized music and computer experimentation while it's the younger generation that's completely brainwashed into listening to "pure" rock or watching American Idol, about as uninnovative as you can get.
