I guess when you are top 10 in the world, you either play among other top 10, or you have to sand bag yourself a lot to make it even remotely interesting to watch and not turn it into a slaughter
@@MegaUnwetter it would not work in 10min games. The only reason he is able to for the most part is that GMs especially super GMs have finesse and can move and calculate way way way faster than any 2400
@@ThereAreTwoGenders well, he's already giving them a huge advantage, which wouldn't work if he's not playing to his strenghts. It seems pretty balanced this way, which is what makes it a great speedrun.
I think you could absolutely do this whole speedrun again from scratch and everybody will watch it. I'm actually looking forward to it, I learned so much from this it's ridiculous
@@gibberconfirm166 agreed 100%. And if he took a little time to explain a little more his thought process or if he'd review some games after playing in the speedrun I wouldn't mind if he played until 2000 for example and avoid the stress of these 2400's games
Botez Gambit videos are where I learn the best places to put my pieces. That is why this is educational. Also learn techniques to keep yourself in the game after material loss by keeping game closed. Learning the fun way which is the best way.
Love when he gets in predator mode whenever the opponent blunders and he realizes he's going to win, you can see it on his eyes like 27:02 or the intro
I guess he wasnt looking for a move that would block in his bishop, as its counter intuitive to consider pawn moves which restrict yours own pieces when already down material
Say what you will of Hikaru but he will go down in chess history as the man who was able to have it all. A top chess player on an international scale and an equally successful streamer, content creator, and man of the people. You should be proud of yourself Hikaru. Cheers
I love this, I remember when I have joined to the channel and Hikaru had a million subscribers. Now, he was building up to have more. Honestly, he deserves it because he is really working a lot. Up to 5 million and more than 2500 in this serie. You can do it!
remember that there is no theory around the Botez Gambit. since there's a million variations of it one cannot possibly grasp the theory behind it and it all comes down to critical thinking and how far you can think ahead of your opponent in order to utilize tactics and force trades (or avoid them)
It's actually worse than being 5.5 points down since a queen is worth more than 9 pawns (a queen easily beats 8 pawns). A queen usually beats (though with difficulty) a rook and four pawns in the middlegame (in the endgame there are fortresses that prevent the queen from winning).
@@blas_de_lezo7375 The rook, knight, and two pawns should comfortably hold against the queen (in the opening position), but the queen is very slightly better still (if it's an opening or early middlegame position). In the endgame, the rook, knight, and two pawns have more winning chances than the queen if there are very few pawn weaknesses for the queen to attack. The queen is clearly better than two rooks in the opening/early middlegame (unless the rooks are very well-placed). In the endgame, the queen can often hold but the two rooks have the fun.
THIS is the best speedrun ever in this channel hands down. I've never missed an episode of this. Thanks Hikaru for great contents. Keep it up.
Same here I ever rewatched some of the old stuff
I watched all episodes of this too. And I will watch it again in the future. Best series ever.
same here, I hope he starts a new one
Tricks only was a classic as well
I agree
loved this challenge and the absurdness of playing such high rated players down a queen

most of the time he gets a piece and a pawn in exchange so it's not exactly a queen down
This is honestly the best series please keep this one going forever. Seeing you start from behind just puts the Super in Super GM.

Bongcloud Botez. Even if Hikaru can't get as highly rated, those are clearly the two best speedruns, marketing potential is there.

I love when hikaru reacts to his opponent as an engine does. "WHAT? That was a terrible move"

So glad you continued this run! Amazing stuff.
I couldnt grasp excactly how strong hikaru is before this series, this is totally insane.
Really was revealing, wasn’t it?
I think it was Daniel Naroditsky who once said most people don't realize how good Super GMs are but grandmasters understand genius of Super GMs

I love it too. it s like he s gonna go get the monitor and eat it.
23:26 Hikaru missign e4 for like 5 moves trapping the knight :)
Damn look atchu

It looks like your game against RaffaChess will be on the next batch. Been wanting to watch it in your POV since he posted about it on his channel.
Tem uma galera aí ansiosa pra ver xD
Xêni from heaven!
Today is surungo's day!
Same here! Hahahaha Raphaelzinho entregou
Alguém sabe se já saiu o jogo contra o elefante38? Quero ver a cada dele dizendo que é engine XD
I never comment on TH-cam videos but this by far my favourite series of all time, I hope Hikaru sees this and continues
The first guy got crushed so hard
He be offering rematches nonstop
4:40 super gm's hand resists doing a blunder automatically 😂 that's how good they are.
Hikaru: this is live guys
Ppl on youtube: wait what?

I tried to sac my queen like hikaru and instantly regretted it 😆
"I immediately regret this decision"
When he almost plays Rxe6 He almost slipped right in to that lol! His reaction was funny !
That end game was phenomenal
dude that finish at 27:31 endet with the music too. A perfect end :D
The second game was terrific. Its incredible the tecnique that Hikaru use in the end game! So compact with his piece
playing this vid in background to accompany me while i study and do assignment
How amazing would a bullet botez speed run be!
This intro has forever been added to my fav songs playlist
these videos are a blessing, thank you
THIS IS RIDICULOUS!! I LOVE IT
Absolutely insane. What a roll
He's a god. Being able to beat such high ranked players that consistently... mind blowing.
11:13 SO Phenomenalll
He was so happy at the end there lol. Love how much this man loves chess

The reason this speed run is so good: it showcases real, zero theory, high level chess between a master, and an unsuspecting apprentice.
I truly believe this win 11:47 came because you chummed the waters. You should chum the waters more often @GMHikaru.
Please do more absurd speedruns cause we love it
Probably botez gambit + bongcloud speed run next :v
And to call it "stoned bottez gambit" :D
Beautiful, he wins the queen at 21:21:21 precisly ! Nice trick HN !
Hikaru: 23:35
Jospem: *SWEATS*
This is a great speedrun Hikaru is going to make this last a few more videos by sacrificing later and for more material
22:55 I literally don't care moment
Everybody gangsta until Hikaru premoves a queen sacrifice
We all know Hikaru is AMZING at chess, but this series highlights just how ABSURDLY good he is, beating such high rated players down a queen.....
Can we talk about how the man did not lose a SINGLE game this episode?! Unreal
Would love to see one of these games on levy’s guess the elo
Wow, this is crazy, playing almost 2400’s down a Queen and winning. Mad skills!!!
Ridiculous. He wins a lot more when he's more focused and only a little distracted by the chat. Wow! LOL
I like how most of the videos ends with "Alright let's keep going."
Reading the thumbnail for a moment I thought Queen Elisabeth or someone like that died or something.
This speedrun is the poetry of logical ideas 💡 👌
I bet Hikaru could go an extra 100 points higher if he chose to sack the queen later in the games.
He said he couldn't queen's botez gambit Levy, not even close, yet here he is breaking 2500
18:32 harrassing laugh by hikari 🤣🤣
2400 with no queen , insanity over here
Speedrun like this prove Hikaru's core stength in chess
I will drop everything that I’m doing to watch a Botez Gambit video
No Queen but big balls. Excellent stuff.
guy's just so good at chess...
Beautiful piece play this sess Hikaru, keep it up!
keep em coming! understandable that u will hit a wall at some point though. What speedrun idea should be the next big thing?
5:38 thats my friend
This is like the equivalent of running a race with one leg missing against college athletes. And he’s winning lol
Waiting to see the part where Hikaru plays against Raffael Chess
This is my favourite series
Playing against Chessmaster personalities would be a good content, yes?
Awesome Hikaru! Beyond amazing!
As Michael Jordon would say "Mm Mm" ( Famous Michael Jordan line)
I absolutely love this intro
Imagine if levy had half of Hikarus confidence .
most fun thing ive ever watched.
This is frikkin amazing
Absolute maidenless behavior!
me : * watching hikaru * chess is easy
also me : * lose in fourth move * 😐
Next he should do Chess Simp speed run, just take ridiculous ideas from his repertoire and see how high he can go.
Incredible stuff. And I can barely beat a 300 player with all the pieces LOL!
I love this series
those are so incredibly entertaining.
i dont watch chess other than this speedrun very nice
Is there a way to make the twitch chat not so delayed in TH-cam videos. There's like a 30 second delay.
Impressive! Who needs the Queen anyway
I love this speedrun ❤️
next time sacrifice you're king too 😂
insane as usual
Still waiting on Tricks only finale
So Hikaru is on average trading a queen for a bishop or bishop+pawn. 4.75 to 5.75 points down... against 2300-2400s...

@@venkatachengalvala4289 What about a queen vs a rook , 2 pawns and a knight? :-)

The bishops 🤩
WHAT This one was crazy
Hikaru pls make content pushing 3200 to 4000 elo please.
Will be interesting watching you against strong opponent
Thats not possible for any human
Lmao such a phenomenal video title
And keeps going...
Let's go... Five dubs 👍👍
The title 💀
do the speedrun again but go bullet. could easily get 26 or 2700 i'd say
giving a thumb up is not enough for this great content !!!
i thought elizabeth was ded bc of the title.
quenless behaviour
It’s 3:30 am …
Loved this, please do more of the same
At 10:07, why can’t hikaru play c6 to undermine the knight and take the bishop?
Because Nb6+ is the answer
When you push a pawn the squares next to it become weaker. Instead of moving the knight, the bishop simply takes d6 and black’s position collapses
Where is the live
On Facebook or what
Let’s keep goin’!!!
Brilliant. 👏🏿
