  • We sort of finish up the John Deere 2940 tractor. Of course there are problems along the way. We need a few parts to finish the power steering leak, but the head gasket repair is looking good!
Sorry for the delay, our internet has been out for 3 days and not scheduled to be fixed until Monday!

Just on the power steering hose, could you not get the hydraulic shop to strip out the two couplers and fit and crip them on a new piece of hose.
You can usually cut off the ferrules/crimps and get the fittings out of the old pipe, then just get a new pipe and ferrules/crimps fitted.

You have tractor knowledge in the bag, but maybe I can give you some PC tips. You have a couple of easy fixes you can do on your PC. First, disconnect everything from the power supply inside the case. Short the green wire to any black wire. If the supply doesn't turn on, replace it. Second, check your motherboard capacitors to see if any are bulging. The tops and bottoms should make them look like flat cans. If you have bulged tops or bottoms, replace the capacitors that are bulging with ones with identical labeled values (lower ESR is better). Power spikes wreak havoc on old capacitors like yours.

Hey Wes, I deck manifolds by hand using a block of Canadian Maple with a piece of 60 grit for the rough pass and then up to 150 grit for finish. The block is long enough to cover 3 ports so it skims square across the machine surfaces. Works very well and leaves a finish that is flat and square. Oh ya, check the shop electrical for proper ground/neutral. You can ground around the building with rods driven into the ground and tied into the breaker panel ground.

Yep, he moored the pirate ship by the front door.

    Oh, ya know...?
I think I heard your yelling & cussing awhile back, clear out here in Montana where I live... Must have been about the time of your backwards head gasket mishap... Hahaha...
I am by no means laughing at you sir. I have felt your pain(s) in that regard in my past...
Great step by step informational video... As always.
    Thank you.

The second cooler passage that you pointed to the stain looks like a skull. Right around 50 seconds

Wes, Put some " RESTORE " in the oil it really works, unless of course there's MAJOR ISUES ? GREAT VID. YOU'RE A SMART MAN WES.

Nothing a time machine would not fix.

WES, that too, let me know if you find one ? But RESTORE is definitely easier to find. Seriously though it works but you have to put it in every oil change. I put it in my 97 Jeep that has 185,000 on it brought compression points up a bit. Hell " PROJECT FARM " even likes it, worked on his tractor. Waiting on next vid. on this beast, YES AFTERMARKET PARTS ALSO ARE A GAMBLE EVEN WELL KNOWN BRAND NAMES. Sometimes you have to go that route though ? THANKS AGAIN FOR THE GREAT VIDS. WES.
