The reflection on the lake is pretty keen in the dropdown. Little details of polish like that really give games that extra little spark of life and beauty.
Wow. Coming from your other video. The colorscheme and art looks beautiful. Ultimately, you're the designer of your game so if you want to scrap stuff and change direction you need to do it.
super great to hear this perspective, since scrapping parts of your game does not mean giving up! for me personally, my current hobby-gamedev project has had many ideas and even entire finished systems scrapped and remade. I did this, and keep doing this, to make my game something I enjoy making. and so far I'd say it's been worth it, since I look forward to working on my game after work each day, and it's slowly becoming a polished experience that I can be proud of and happy with p.s., as a fellow seattle indie, I hope you're able to submit to SIX next year! I know I'm hoping to submit something myself :)
Hey, a fellow Seattle game dev! I really liked the character in the final shot of the game, pixel art (art in general) is something I struggle with as well. How long have you been doing pixel art? It looks really good
Hey fellow Seattle dev! Thanks for watching! I've been messing with pixel art for a while and have always been interested in art, but only recently something clicked... which is to let go of details. I'm still learning to further simplify and chunk colors! Anyways are you in seattle indie game developer discord?
Thanks for watching!
Have you defeated Sunk-Cost Fallacy recently?
Really glad to see your consistency Ezra! Keep it up! 😉
