A lot of themes come with a fairly standard list view and the free way of creating a slick responsive grid is with the excellent “The Post Grid” plugin in this WordPress Tutorial. It has a Pro version but the free one of the WordPress Repo is surprisingly ace!

I am so HAPPY I found your video and this plugin. FOR DAYS AND DAYS I have been trying to add a grid layout to my category pages. Nothing worked that I tried, and I tried a zillion of different options - plugins and css.
And now finally… The Post Grid not only looks beautiful, but gives this incredible feature of including and excluding certain posts simply by adding post IDs. Now, I can have in my main menu different pages with different posts instead of having to have categories in the main menu.
As a bonus... this incredible plugin also gives a simple option of changing the title of the "Read More" button, very useful for translating a website from English into another language.

I looked almost into everything free without finding what I wanted and still looking profesional : the isotope layout is exactly what I wanted ! and as you said, I can't believe it's free, it's really nice, easy and yet so pro.

Great tutorial Jakson. I have a couple of questions: why are the images in my posts different sizes, when they all should be 1024x1024? What is the best way to resize images to make them all the same before you upload them into WP? Where are the CSS codes you mentioned in this video? Thanks again!

Thank you for the tutorial. I tried several times with great difficulty. I eventually selected the Isotope layout and then it worked. I had to select tags. Wish that could not show at the top, but at least I got the grid view now. Any suggestions there?

I have a concern about duplicate content,.
if we create a Blog Page and place the Post Grid short code Now We will have 3 locations where the posts are in our site: category pages.php , archive pages.php (which that can be no-index,no problem) and a Blog page with the Post Grid short code that we have created to publish the posts for a category
What is the best solution for this?
As you already know, duplicte content is very bad for SEO

Hello @Jakson. Video is very useful. However, I made it and got a bit of a problem. I add new "Home" page and inserted a short code. I Select A static page Front Page and select the "Home" page. I see Pagination does not work. It only shows on the web the first page only and can not be changed. Can you help me with this problem? Thank you very much
Thanks for the great video! However, after doing all the steps, my posts showed up in a grid format but my images did not come through at all. I have an image for each post. Is there something else I need to do?

Hi there. New here. I like your posts as they are well thought out and clear. I have a question though in regards to the right side bar. My home page has a rt sidebar that I want to get rid of and have a clean landing page. Right now it has a an archive widget and a meta widget. When I go to the page to remove them I can't see the widgets. If I insert a widget such as a text box, the two widgets are hidden. How do I get rid of the widgets and have a full width page? Thanks a lot.
I have different pages for different type of post like News, Business, Shopping, Career etc.
Now whenever I post something they all go to the same page i.e. News. I even tried changing page in static page in reading tab in the setting but that transfers my all post to different page, the page I choose.
I want something like post of - Latest News goes under News page
- Current Job openings go under Career page etc.
Please help me in urgent basis.
Hi Jackson, I am using this plugin with isotope view. First issue is title lengh, if I have a post with 2 lines in title and a post with 1 line, how can I get them to align using custom css? I want them to appear the same length by shrinking the font in the longer title post. I do not want to reduce or limit the title length. Also, the images all show up blurry on isotope view, using medium 300x300 feature image size and only look clear once they are clicked on to go to actual blog page? Any tips? Thanks

Thank you very much for that helpfull tutorial. The plugin worked fine. But: the plugin makes my website quite slow, so I removed it. I think the better way for me is to choose a theme with integrated grid layout.
But never the less, your tutorial is great!
Hi Renate, may I suggest checking out AccessPress themes. I do a little webdesign for friends and have found some of their free themes have good parallax layouts with excellent post display.

Hi Jakson. I'm using the wellnesscenter them. It has a "blog post page" and does not give me ability to add the shortcode. I'm only able to add to each post page. Is there an alternate way to change the blog post page to a grid with my current blog post? Thank you.

Can I delete the short preview text of a post under the image /excerpt/ only on certain posts or at least edit it somehow? I have a lot of poems on my blog page and it looks weird, because post grids puts all the words next to each other when creating excerpts out of poems and I would like if the excerpts for poem posts had the formating a poem has once you click on it to open a full post or not have any excerpt at all if that is a solution. Or is there a separate plugin to work with poetry in Wordpress that allows me to edit formatting of a preview text for those poems?

Elementor confuses me. Gutenberg is still being developed and probably will be for years. I'm trying to learn GRIDS. If you do anything for that page builder I'd like to see what can be done and pay you to have help becoming proficient. Presently I need a grid to use like a business directory.

Hi Jakson. When I input the css code you provided for this video (to adapt the font), only the font in the heading changes.
For some reason the preview line in the blogs are appearing bold. Any idea how to remove the bolding for this preview text?
I wrote the css in the settings for the post grid but it didn't work. So I used Elementor to adjust the top margin. :))
Do you have a .txt file with the CSS code? Not a CSS pro but learning. Was hoping to get the padding correct and modify font. Thanks.

Jakson, thanks for all your videos. I followed you and managed to do all you did. But I got an issue, I have many posts and only allow 12 of them per page so the rest to show on second etc pages. The problem is, right under the post on the first page there is number showing pages when I hit the second to see the posts on the second page, it still shows posts on first page.. any idea how to fix this..

Does Post Grid allow limiting the grid to specific categories? I think the answer to that is no! This is very unfortunate. Please confirm.
