Your bag management style is pretty similar to mine. I think the only main difference is that I do keep Great Balls since, for whatever reason, Ultras don't drop very often for me from stops despite having a very healthy number of them in my immediate area. I do need to whittle down my evolution item supply though since I kinda sorta have 20 of each right now...
I use the same method as you Zoe the only difference is that I consciously limit my item storage to 400 only. I throw what i don't need base on necessity. If Community Day is coming, I stock up with great & ultra balls (mostly ultra) and throw away any reg balls (no plus device here). When I need to do raiding, then the gym that I raid itself will provide the revives so i limit my max item to 30.. TMs & candies are used up immediately after the raid and I only save 5 evolution stone each. Yup I try to remove sentiments in storing item and sort it base on the necessity for a particular situation ahead. I guess it's my PoGo 5S system. But Pokemon storage is a different beast. Basically, the way you manage your storage is the same as mine! I never really thought of deleting great balls, though. Not sure why. Once my ultra balls begin to really outshine my great balls I will totally just get rid of great balls all together. I also totally try to keep a healthy supply of regular pokeballs for my GO Plus.
Yeah I usually only keep max potions & max revives, & dump the other kind of potions & normal revives. I always use up my rare candies when I get them. I keep all my berries to dump into gyms for stardust. And I'll dump great balls, too, cause normal pokeballs are needed for the go plus :P Great tips, Zoe!
I like these recommendations. I once had just over 300 Rare Candy and it was eating away at my storage ability, but I was saving them for Celebi. Once I got that time fairy, I had no more bad issues :)
my bag management is fairly similar to yours, except for a few factors.. i keep my fast TMs to 10, and my charge TMs to 20. I don't keep any special items at all except 1 upgrade. All my rare candies go into any legendaries OR any rare pokemon that are 5km walking distance, i don't store any in my bag. my thinking is that any of these items I can possibly get back over time and there isn't anything that I would need immediately. no berries kept too, except for 60 pinaps, and gold razz. all berries go to gyms. the only stuff i DO hoard are revives, max revives and max potions. but even those when they get too overwhelming, I'll go on a gym spree and grind gyms to gold to use them up. and yes no great balls too, also keep my normal pokeballs to a minimum of 100 UNLESS comm day is coming up or my friends and I are going on a shiny hunt during event periods, in which case the number would be bumped up significantly.

A couple things I'd like to add : If you have aplenty of Max revives , throw away normal revives & all but one potion. And Potions + Normal Revives , you'll only ever need to keep as many potions (Max/Hyper) total as you have regular Revives.
Good video, good advice - one variant that I use is when I have waaaaaaayyyyyyy too many berries, I try to feed them to allies in gyms. That feels a little bit less wasteful than throwing them away - when you feed a same-team Pokémon a berry, including your own, you get 20 stardust, 20 XP and, occasionally, a candy of that Pokémon's type. That is, of course, if you have a little time to do that and if there are friendly gyms close enough to you.
Great tips for storage there! I usually throw away all my potions as well and only keep the higher grade ones. If I happen to have pokemon with less than full hp at the moment, I just use them right away. Usually I try to give utility to the items when I'm cleaning my bag, so I stop by a gym and feed as many berries as I can, or I just use incense and drop lures around places when I go out, check which pokemon could have better movesets and use those TM items, etc. There's always a way to deal with this stuff. I just have a problem with getting low on pokeballs, especially during community days, and because my bad is still on 350, but hopefully I'll be able to do something about it soon
Have to finish this later. Potions section, i would like to have my max potion between 150-200 and hyper around 100 give or take depending on max. Revives section. I would like 150 max or I wouldn’t throw any regulars out. Taking out gyms with berry feeders, these will come in handy. I had gotten low and had to stop building up my gyms to gold Berries section, keep razz and nanab between 1-49, pinap between 100-200, and golden 100-200. Evo items, only keep what I am planning to uses Ball, I just keep 200-300 of each. I have gotten lucky on evo items in the beginning. I am still against seven day bonus but I can see that people who don’t play like me would need it. I just hate deleting these but bam, I will
That great ball discard thing was so smart, I’ve never thought of it because, when I want something really bad I go straight to ultra and when something is really bad I just use the normal red balls and my great balls keep going up since I never touch them, thank you 👍
Hi! Here's a quick summary of my very similar management; With only 1100 Item Space I'm trying to keep every count as low as possible, but at the same time as high as needed. I like having a ratio of 2 potions (top or hyper) per 1 revive (regular or top). At a maximum of 80-100 revives. (240-300 Items total) So I've got always the opportunity to play Solo, clearing gyms on my own w/o running out of heals. Or sticking to a Group of Raiders and save some heals for the Solo Adventures. I'm saving like 200 red, 40 blue and all great balls I can find. (250-400 Items) (There's a "CP" codex I'm using while catching - 1-499 CP = red, 500-999 = blue, 1000-X = yellow.) Berries are fed all the time except like 50 golden razz. Pines are stocked to like 100 and fed aswell, when I hit like 150. (150-200 Items) With consumables I'm trying to run them at a minimum and just buying stuff when I'm in the need of it. Passes (~5-20), Starpieces (5-10), Incense (Only for Community Day), Lucky Eggs (Best Friend + Raid Train), TMs (like 10 each) and Incubators (maybe 10 total). (50-100 Items) Evolution items 2 pieces each. There you go - 1000 Items compacted. p.s. I don't hoard Rare Candy - I use them where I need them at the moment. With weekly raids (4-6 Legendary á Week) it's quite easy obtaining them. p.p.s. Zoë - will you marry me? ;x
I am a free to play player and honestly I manage fine with just 350 storage space (the minimum provided). This is what I keep: Zero Potions and Super Potions 20 Hyper Potions 20 Max Potions 30 Revives 20 Max Revives 20 Razz Berries 10 Nanab Berries (feed all surplus at gyms) 30 Pinap Berries (gets up to 70-80 before community day) 50 Golden Razz Berries 5 each of the evolution items = 25 (this is an idle stock) 10 Rare candies (mostly transferred into some legendary) Remaining space for Balls (about 100-115) 10 Gifts (Hold 0 at end of the day) If I am short of space, first go the Razz and Nanab Berries, then pokeballs, then great/ultra balls. Some notes: I play in a city, so no shortage of items. Being free to play.. Items like premium raid pases, star pieces and lucky eggs are very rare. I do only one raid a day (except events) No Go Plus either! I spend my free coins on boxes for which I need to make some room, but that's like once in 2 months! If there's any event coming.. I just tweak the numbers to accommodate for the required items. Been managing like this about 6 months now. Hope this is helpful to someone. Any suggestions or questions welcome.
My bag storage management is pretty crazy.1200 pinap berry. i will never delete any, community days, new gen and good nests are a blast. Delete all potions, super potions, razz berry, nana berry and pokeballs. Heavy culls on great balls. 5 of each evolution item. 15-25 golden razz, keep at least 15-25 hyper/max potion. Keep all revives as i burn through them. currently have 0, I do raid everyday. Rare candy i keep as low as possible.
I consider 100 a solid supply of pinaps. If there’s a community day coming up, you can open a few gifts to get more. Keeping 150+ is too much for me, I only usually keep 50.
Another example from mostly free to play player. My max storage is 1300 which I raise by 50 now and then. I usually save the coins for boxes to get raid passes and stuff for those raid days what we had with the legendary birds. I limit my storage to 100 max potions, 100 max revives. No other potions or revives saved. Reason for this is that I don't do gyms that often and opening 20 gifts every day gives a plenty of max potions/revives to keep them in 100 each. I keep the few lucky eggs, incenses,lure modules and star pieces I have but I also use them often during the events. I keep rare candy at max 100 but usually it is around 50. For pokeballs if I have room I keep 250 normal for Go Plus and 150 ultras for normal play. No great balls. If I run low on space because of stuff I get from the boxes I just keep pokeball numbers lower then. For berries I keep max 200 pinaps and 100 golden razz berries and all silver pinaps and feed the rest to the gyms or just destroy if I'm feeling lazy and running out of room. I keep 10 of each evolution items. TMs I keep under 50 each. There is not much extra room in my storage so I probably should invest some of the free coins I get from the gyms to increase the space. After all if you actively play one month, get 50 coins each day from the gyms and invest all of them to storage space you can get 350 extra slots in that time.
2 things about this video. 1st, Always save the rare candy. If we get a special surprised pokemon or move set and you already stored those rare candies into another pokemon. Now you have to wait to get more candy for that type or go out and raid. IF you have raid passes. A number of peoples budgets change so we can't always afford to buy passes or boxes. 2nd, Don't be surprised if Niantic raises the level cap. I am saving my TM's, Passes and Rare candies for newer raids and level increases. Deleting TM's and passes is like deleting money. If you have money to throw away by all means.
With gifts my max revives are at 40, I'm happy. I toss all other potions when full. I also keep only 2 of each evo items. I dont toss balls much, pokeballs are go+, I use great, ultra for com day. Nanabs go straight to gyms, (working towards gold), i confess, I have 530+ rare candies lol
I'm always struggling with pokemon storage (will watch that video of yours after this!), but though I have some issues with bag space, it's never really anything too bad for me which I'm so glad about. I agree with the rare candy point you made, 100%! I currently have 100, but I want to put it all in to my Celebi when I finally catch it (wanna take it around for some AR shots). I usually keep mine around 60-80 as I get more after a few raids on the weekend, though I do exactly what you do- dump them in to legendaries! I'm just not sure where else to dump them now, as I've got 100+ in all my legendaries atm, though Rayquaza is a good idea. I'm not a heavy gym player, so I almost always delete all my potions/revives, as after opening gifts, I'll probably already gain back anything which I might need after my daily battling to get my coins. I don't have a go plus, so I don't have too much of a need for regular balls- if I'm tight on space (currently at 1100 and I'm fine with it), I'll just trash those and keep the greats/ultras. Berries, I do the same as you. I'm tempted to start using golden razzes in gyms as I have a ridiculous amount (~230), and I don't really need them. I definitely need to start stocking up on pinaps though, for Beldum Comm Day! Evolution items, I keep 1-3 of each, though if I get tight on space, I don't mind deleting them. My biggest issue would have to be the TMs- I'm not a main-series Pokemon player, nor am I a gym battler, so I'm always kind of unsure what to do with them? I have about 70 of each- feels wasteful to just trash them, but it gives me a headache trying to search up and see what moves I should give which pokemon. I was really glad when Mewtwo's Shadow Ball(?) became a legacy, just so I could use some of my TMs! Zoe (or anyone reading this), do you happen to have any tips on what to use these TMs for? Or a great link to a list of pokemon/movesets which I could look through in order to just use up a ton of these without just wasting/trashing them? Honestly, I think it'd be great if in the future, we'd be able to make our own 'gifts' to send to friends- I'd put one of each TM in some if I could!
If you have 70+ of each, and you're content with the moves on all your current useable Pokémon, Id' say you're safe to trash down to 50 or 30. You'll probably accrue more of them before Gen 4 drops anyway so don't let them take up precious space now :) Even once gen 4 drops, you probably aren't going to have a full team of nice IV mons that you're ready to evolve/power up/re-roll moves for in the first two+ weeks. More than enough time to start grinding TM's back up if needed.
Yeah I might actually cut down on them if I start struggling with space when collecting pinaps for Beldum CD. I want to properly go through a 'best moveset' list online and change them on pokemon which may not be great battlers, just so I'm not completely wasting them, but that'd take sooo much time. Thanks!
Some people (like me) would like to save rare candies for new legendaries coming in period in which they play less for example in the winter period! All my legendaries except suicune and registeel&ice hah 300+ candies yet and I have no idea how to spend them at the moment! I'll hold also 400+ in the storage till CP rebalancing because maybe some of them will be more interesting! My main problem is that I don't want to transfer TMs!250+ at the moment and all perfect movesets!:D
This storage is a lot easier for me to maintain than the Pokemon storage... I am a hoarder of Pokemon, but my bag space for items does fill up, I just don't care about deleting stuff... Great tips by the way, especially the Rare Candy.. I can't believe how many people I see that have 500 rare candy and don't even think to put it in Pokemon for later on...
I have 396 Rare Candy, would love to use them, but what do I use them on...? Used 200 on Blissey about 3 weeks ago, feels like a waste right now with impending nerfs very likely. At least I didn't actually power them up , couldn't part with the dust. Glad I didn't now.
Put them into Mewtwo, or other useful legendary... Rayquaza, or Raiko... you don't have to power them up now, but you can save candy in them for later... will never be a bad investment to save it on useful legendaries... Rayquaza will be back with a shiny variant *hopefully* soon... probably want to power that up, right?
When I search "legendary" in my pokemon list, There's only one legendary that is Cresselia. Main reason: There is no one to help me to win those legendary raids...

I take down gyms with 70-89 iv's, delete them when dead, easy way to clear out my storage, and I have a huuuuge surplus of max revives, I keep it trimmed to 500, but have thrown away thousands. I only keep max potions. All the rest get binned. If a pokemon is dead and worth keeping it gets a max revive. If it's hurt, it gets a max potion. I have zero rare candy in my bag (yay!), it all gets pumped into pokemon that day.
I can't imagine throwing away balls of any kind. I always make sure I maximize my number of balls over the weekend when I'm near stops/gyms so I have plenty to use all week around my home where I only have a few scattered stops. If I WAS going to throw any away it would be regulars because I never trust my Gotcha to catch- it wastes too many.
It’s really crappy how things don’t stack as they do in EVERY Pokémon game ever made. That’s what the issue is! I bought 100 slots and filled them overnight.
I keep all pokeballs as they will all get used at some point. I’m different with rare candy. I give the majority of mine to Chansey. Why spread rare candy across 10-15 different legendaries when I can give it to the best defender in the game and have it sit in gyms? Blissey is still the most relevant Pokémon in the game and given that there are no Chansey raids, I give her all my candies.
Also, if I were to discard balls, I would throw away red balls. Because I manually catch everything, a blue ball is better than a red ball, so for those like me who do not use a GoPlus, it makes little sense to discard blue balls, so you might want to add a disclaimer.
Fairly old video so I'm not sure if I'll get answer to this from any experienced players, but since it's regarding storage: Do you keep ALL shinys? I get keeping rare ones (Meta relevant, Legendaries/Mythical, and general hard to get pokemon like Beldum etc.), but since I'm a f2p player and have limited coins and since they are hard to come by, I feel unsure if keeping all shinies and have them take up my space, without having any use for them. On one hand, it's great for collection, on the other hand, is a f2p players main concern "collection" if they don't have the capacity for it? I personally like the idea of only having hight CO/IV pokemons and dump the "useless" ones, but I still not sure if that's a good idea. Anyone that could recommend or get e fresh point of view to my conundrum? Much appreciated.
Maybe someday I will get a bag. But right now it basic survival! I dont live for the game. I play it because I cant go fishing anymore. But It is a cool game!
Okay so I pretty much participate in all activities that Pokémon GO has to offer catching, gyming and raiding. As far as items go. Managing items comes down to what you actually use. Lets take the ultra ball for one I personally don't keep more then 150+ nor do I toss them I just actually use them. Sure one can argue I'm saving up for community day! Right! but you know when that's gonna happen so you can stock up the week before if youd like. I personally just keep the standard pokeball. Why? because I can throw out 40 on the spot without thinking about replenishing cause it is a very common item that comes out of the pokestop. As opposed to 400+ ultra balls you become so hesitant become its a more scarce item. Scarce as it may be however ask yourself ive collected this many ive used how many? Max revives or Hyper potions. In this part I use all potions I cant even hoard potions if you battle 3-6 hours you need all types of healing. But before I started taking my battle career seriously I had many max revives. Once again I asked myself how often do I use this? Once again hoarding a scarce item. Maybe set yourself a limit to actually use an item. I will collect 400 Max revives and clean out every gym once I collect said amount. and if you're hoarding Max revives you don't need any form of potion or revive. The one item does it all think end game dog for your pokemon TO THE POINT OF FAINTING! So the bottom line is if you've got hundreds of items in your bag ask yourself how long has it honestly been. Am I trying to keep a living dex or a living storage...
My bag claims I’m at 500/500 but I added all my potions, balls, revives, raid passes, gifts, incubators and eggs up and they’re nowhere near 500, what is taking up space I’m not seeing?
ZoëTwoDots I only have one incubator at the moment, it’s not that or gifts, but when I used a lucky egg and got rid of my 12 candy evolvable Pokémon my bag seemed to have gone down like 150 items
Don't you think, keeping the potion is good for 'topping up' your pokemon. Ones that need very little powering up. Super, for ones that need that little bit extra.. and so forth?
i only have 450 bag space and 550 pokemon space but then again, i'm only a free to play player. maxing out item or pokemon storage is great but problem is u have so much, keep what is necessary and use or throw excess. u dont need so much stuff.
I feel like there's no reason to get rid of great balls if you have regular balls. I have a rule of thumb, 10-500cp regular ball, 500-1000cp great ball, 1000+cp ultra ball, so I use all types of ball all the time. But if you have too many balls there's no harm in just ditching all the red ones and running exclusively with greats for a while. I totally agree about the rare candy though, just use it.
If you're running a Go Plus it only uses red balls. Hence my reasoning for tossing Greats. For me my rule is approximately 10-600cp Poké Ball, 600+ Ultra Ball.
wait why do u dump greats and not normal red pokeballs.. surely ud want to use great instead of normal balls for catching common stuff. Is a goplus unable to catch using great balls?
The goplus only uses regular, I do wish you could select which ball it defaults to though. So as someone who has a goplus I discard greats if I need to make space
How do people get stuck on managing their storage when they have 2000 space? I have 350 because I haven't upgraded my storage or my Pokemon storage and have no problems managing that when I play at least 1 hour a day sometimes even 5 hours. Just how?
I am one of those players who keeps 500 rare candies because I'm saving them for legendary's in gen 4. It will get cold in the winter and I doubt I will raid when it's in around 20 degrees which is fairly common. I like the video but I disagree with deleting great balls and keeping poke balls. That only makes sense if you have a Go Plus or a Gotcha. If you don't (and I don't) there's no point into deleting a ball that's better than a pokeball instead of just deleting the poke balls and keeping the great balls!

item management is difficult if u do alot of raids very often. because you will be stacked up with too many TM and rare candy that u have nth else to give to. and keeping them will eat into other items. its bad. i recently just trash away 60 fast tm. n i holding 800 rare candies. all my legendary have 400 candies. even after powering up afew. oh well.
Why do you call it Wafu" raiding? (I mean, I know that it refers to doing as many as poss in one session) but i just googled Wafu and cannot figure out the origin of the term or why it applies to pokemon go.
And when it comes to rare candy... There were two of us in my town who actually had a competition to see who could reach 1000 rare candy first.. I lost. By 38 candies.
Yea what she did in this video only makes sense if you spend 90% of your time doing raids, are a lower/mid level player and let your go plus do all the catching.

It’s painful to watch u get rid of great balls. What u said makes no sense. Get rid of poke balls and leave great balls as your base. It has a better catch rate.

Why not keep great balls over regular balls like you keep hyper potions over regular potions? Inconsistent and illogical to keep the weaker thing while trashing the stronger item.

my bag management is fairly similar to yours, except for a few factors.. i keep my fast TMs to 10, and my charge TMs to 20. I don't keep any special items at all except 1 upgrade. All my rare candies go into any legendaries OR any rare pokemon that are 5km walking distance, i don't store any in my bag. my thinking is that any of these items I can possibly get back over time and there isn't anything that I would need immediately. no berries kept too, except for 60 pinaps, and gold razz. all berries go to gyms. the only stuff i DO hoard are revives, max revives and max potions. but even those when they get too overwhelming, I'll go on a gym spree and grind gyms to gold to use them up. and yes no great balls too, also keep my normal pokeballs to a minimum of 100 UNLESS comm day is coming up or my friends and I are going on a shiny hunt during event periods, in which case the number would be bumped up significantly.

A couple things I'd like to add : If you have aplenty of Max revives , throw away normal revives & all but one potion. And Potions + Normal Revives , you'll only ever need to keep as many potions (Max/Hyper) total as you have regular Revives.

Good video, good advice - one variant that I use is when I have waaaaaaayyyyyyy too many berries, I try to feed them to allies in gyms. That feels a little bit less wasteful than throwing them away - when you feed a same-team Pokémon a berry, including your own, you get 20 stardust, 20 XP and, occasionally, a candy of that Pokémon's type. That is, of course, if you have a little time to do that and if there are friendly gyms close enough to you.
Great tips for storage there! I usually throw away all my potions as well and only keep the higher grade ones. If I happen to have pokemon with less than full hp at the moment, I just use them right away. Usually I try to give utility to the items when I'm cleaning my bag, so I stop by a gym and feed as many berries as I can, or I just use incense and drop lures around places when I go out, check which pokemon could have better movesets and use those TM items, etc. There's always a way to deal with this stuff. I just have a problem with getting low on pokeballs, especially during community days, and because my bad is still on 350, but hopefully I'll be able to do something about it soon
The constant bag space struggle is real :-( Rare candy gets used as soon as I get it, will be getting more when Gen4 is out so don't stock.

Potions section, i would like to have my max potion between 150-200 and hyper around 100 give or take depending on max.
Revives section. I would like 150 max or I wouldn’t throw any regulars out. Taking out gyms with berry feeders, these will come in handy. I had gotten low and had to stop building up my gyms to gold
Berries section, keep razz and nanab between 1-49, pinap between 100-200, and golden 100-200.
Evo items, only keep what I am planning to uses
Ball, I just keep 200-300 of each.

That great ball discard thing was so smart, I’ve never thought of it because, when I want something really bad I go straight to ultra and when something is really bad I just use the normal red balls and my great balls keep going up since I never touch them, thank you 👍
With the berries, you can use them while you gonna catch Pokemon or as you say feed them to the raid

Here's a quick summary of my very similar management;
With only 1100 Item Space I'm trying to keep every count as low as possible, but at the same time as high as needed.
I like having a ratio of 2 potions (top or hyper) per 1 revive (regular or top). At a maximum of 80-100 revives. (240-300 Items total)
So I've got always the opportunity to play Solo, clearing gyms on my own w/o running out of heals. Or sticking to a Group of Raiders and save some heals for the Solo Adventures.
I'm saving like 200 red, 40 blue and all great balls I can find. (250-400 Items)
(There's a "CP" codex I'm using while catching - 1-499 CP = red, 500-999 = blue, 1000-X = yellow.)
Berries are fed all the time except like 50 golden razz. Pines are stocked to like 100 and fed aswell, when I hit like 150. (150-200 Items)
With consumables I'm trying to run them at a minimum and just buying stuff when I'm in the need of it.
Passes (~5-20), Starpieces (5-10), Incense (Only for Community Day), Lucky Eggs (Best Friend + Raid Train), TMs (like 10 each) and Incubators (maybe 10 total). (50-100 Items)
Evolution items 2 pieces each.
There you go - 1000 Items compacted.
p.s. I don't hoard Rare Candy - I use them where I need them at the moment. With weekly raids (4-6 Legendary á Week) it's quite easy obtaining them.

I am a free to play player and honestly I manage fine with just 350 storage space (the minimum provided). This is what I keep:
Zero Potions and Super Potions
20 Hyper Potions
20 Max Potions
30 Revives
20 Max Revives
20 Razz Berries
10 Nanab Berries (feed all surplus at gyms)
30 Pinap Berries (gets up to 70-80 before community day)
50 Golden Razz Berries
5 each of the evolution items = 25 (this is an idle stock)
10 Rare candies (mostly transferred into some legendary)
Remaining space for Balls (about 100-115)
10 Gifts (Hold 0 at end of the day)
If I am short of space, first go the Razz and Nanab Berries, then pokeballs, then great/ultra balls.
Some notes:
I play in a city, so no shortage of items.
Being free to play.. Items like premium raid pases, star pieces and lucky eggs are very rare.
I do only one raid a day (except events)
No Go Plus either!
I spend my free coins on boxes for which I need to make some room, but that's like once in 2 months!
If there's any event coming.. I just tweak the numbers to accommodate for the required items. Been managing like this about 6 months now.

My bag storage management is pretty crazy.1200 pinap berry. i will never delete any, community days, new gen and good nests are a blast. Delete all potions, super potions, razz berry, nana berry and pokeballs. Heavy culls on great balls. 5 of each evolution item. 15-25 golden razz, keep at least 15-25 hyper/max potion. Keep all revives as i burn through them. currently have 0, I do raid everyday. Rare candy i keep as low as possible.
I consider 100 a solid supply of pinaps. If there’s a community day coming up, you can open a few gifts to get more. Keeping 150+ is too much for me, I only usually keep 50.
Another example from mostly free to play player. My max storage is 1300 which I raise by 50 now and then. I usually save the coins for boxes to get raid passes and stuff for those raid days what we had with the legendary birds.
I limit my storage to 100 max potions, 100 max revives. No other potions or revives saved. Reason for this is that I don't do gyms that often and opening 20 gifts every day gives a plenty of max potions/revives to keep them in 100 each.
I keep the few lucky eggs, incenses,lure modules and star pieces I have but I also use them often during the events. I keep rare candy at max 100 but usually it is around 50. For pokeballs if I have room I keep 250 normal for Go Plus and 150 ultras for normal play. No great balls. If I run low on space because of stuff I get from the boxes I just keep pokeball numbers lower then. For berries I keep max 200 pinaps and 100 golden razz berries and all silver pinaps and feed the rest to the gyms or just destroy if I'm feeling lazy and running out of room. I keep 10 of each evolution items. TMs I keep under 50 each.
There is not much extra room in my storage so I probably should invest some of the free coins I get from the gyms to increase the space. After all if you actively play one month, get 50 coins each day from the gyms and invest all of them to storage space you can get 350 extra slots in that time.

2 things about this video.
1st, Always save the rare candy. If we get a special surprised pokemon or move set and you already stored those rare candies into another pokemon. Now you have to wait to get more candy for that type or go out and raid. IF you have raid passes. A number of peoples budgets change so we can't always afford to buy passes or boxes.
2nd, Don't be surprised if Niantic raises the level cap. I am saving my TM's, Passes and Rare candies for newer raids and level increases. Deleting TM's and passes is like deleting money. If you have money to throw away by all means.

I give my rare candies to mons that need 400 candies to evolve, like wailmer.
With gifts my max revives are at 40, I'm happy. I toss all other potions when full. I also keep only 2 of each evo items. I dont toss balls much, pokeballs are go+, I use great, ultra for com day. Nanabs go straight to gyms, (working towards gold), i confess, I have 530+ rare candies lol
I'm always struggling with pokemon storage (will watch that video of yours after this!), but though I have some issues with bag space, it's never really anything too bad for me which I'm so glad about.
I agree with the rare candy point you made, 100%! I currently have 100, but I want to put it all in to my Celebi when I finally catch it (wanna take it around for some AR shots). I usually keep mine around 60-80 as I get more after a few raids on the weekend, though I do exactly what you do- dump them in to legendaries! I'm just not sure where else to dump them now, as I've got 100+ in all my legendaries atm, though Rayquaza is a good idea.
I'm not a heavy gym player, so I almost always delete all my potions/revives, as after opening gifts, I'll probably already gain back anything which I might need after my daily battling to get my coins.
I don't have a go plus, so I don't have too much of a need for regular balls- if I'm tight on space (currently at 1100 and I'm fine with it), I'll just trash those and keep the greats/ultras. Berries, I do the same as you. I'm tempted to start using golden razzes in gyms as I have a ridiculous amount (~230), and I don't really need them. I definitely need to start stocking up on pinaps though, for Beldum Comm Day!
Evolution items, I keep 1-3 of each, though if I get tight on space, I don't mind deleting them.
My biggest issue would have to be the TMs- I'm not a main-series Pokemon player, nor am I a gym battler, so I'm always kind of unsure what to do with them? I have about 70 of each- feels wasteful to just trash them, but it gives me a headache trying to search up and see what moves I should give which pokemon. I was really glad when Mewtwo's Shadow Ball(?) became a legacy, just so I could use some of my TMs! Zoe (or anyone reading this), do you happen to have any tips on what to use these TMs for? Or a great link to a list of pokemon/movesets which I could look through in order to just use up a ton of these without just wasting/trashing them? Honestly, I think it'd be great if in the future, we'd be able to make our own 'gifts' to send to friends- I'd put one of each TM in some if I could!
If you have 70+ of each, and you're content with the moves on all your current useable Pokémon, Id' say you're safe to trash down to 50 or 30. You'll probably accrue more of them before Gen 4 drops anyway so don't let them take up precious space now :) Even once gen 4 drops, you probably aren't going to have a full team of nice IV mons that you're ready to evolve/power up/re-roll moves for in the first two+ weeks. More than enough time to start grinding TM's back up if needed.
Yeah I might actually cut down on them if I start struggling with space when collecting pinaps for Beldum CD.
I want to properly go through a 'best moveset' list online and change them on pokemon which may not be great battlers, just so I'm not completely wasting them, but that'd take sooo much time.

Some people (like me) would like to save rare candies for new legendaries coming in period in which they play less for example in the winter period!
All my legendaries except suicune and registeel&ice hah 300+ candies yet and I have no idea how to spend them at the moment!
I'll hold also 400+ in the storage till CP rebalancing because maybe some of them will be more interesting!
My main problem is that I don't want to transfer TMs!250+ at the moment and all perfect movesets!:D
This storage is a lot easier for me to maintain than the Pokemon storage... I am a hoarder of Pokemon, but my bag space for items does fill up, I just don't care about deleting stuff... Great tips by the way, especially the Rare Candy.. I can't believe how many people I see that have 500 rare candy and don't even think to put it in Pokemon for later on...
I have 396 Rare Candy, would love to use them, but what do I use them on...? Used 200 on Blissey about 3 weeks ago, feels like a waste right now with impending nerfs very likely. At least I didn't actually power them up , couldn't part with the dust. Glad I didn't now.
Put them into Mewtwo, or other useful legendary... Rayquaza, or Raiko... you don't have to power them up now, but you can save candy in them for later... will never be a bad investment to save it on useful legendaries... Rayquaza will be back with a shiny variant *hopefully* soon... probably want to power that up, right?
When I search "legendary" in my pokemon list, There's only one legendary that is Cresselia. Main reason: There is no one to help me to win those legendary raids...

I take down gyms with 70-89 iv's, delete them when dead, easy way to clear out my storage, and I have a huuuuge surplus of max revives, I keep it trimmed to 500, but have thrown away thousands. I only keep max potions. All the rest get binned. If a pokemon is dead and worth keeping it gets a max revive. If it's hurt, it gets a max potion.
I have zero rare candy in my bag (yay!), it all gets pumped into pokemon that day.
I can't imagine throwing away balls of any kind. I always make sure I maximize my number of balls over the weekend when I'm near stops/gyms so I have plenty to use all week around my home where I only have a few scattered stops. If I WAS going to throw any away it would be regulars because I never trust my Gotcha to catch- it wastes too many.
It’s really crappy how things don’t stack as they do in EVERY Pokémon game ever made. That’s what the issue is! I bought 100 slots and filled them overnight.
I keep all pokeballs as they will all get used at some point. I’m different with rare candy. I give the majority of mine to Chansey. Why spread rare candy across 10-15 different legendaries when I can give it to the best defender in the game and have it sit in gyms? Blissey is still the most relevant Pokémon in the game and given that there are no Chansey raids, I give her all my candies.
Good use of candy, I sometimes dip candies into her too. Great tanky defender :)
Also, if I were to discard balls, I would throw away red balls. Because I manually catch everything, a blue ball is better than a red ball, so for those like me who do not use a GoPlus, it makes little sense to discard blue balls, so you might want to add a disclaimer.
Fairly old video so I'm not sure if I'll get answer to this from any experienced players, but since it's regarding storage: Do you keep ALL shinys? I get keeping rare ones (Meta relevant, Legendaries/Mythical, and general hard to get pokemon like Beldum etc.), but since I'm a f2p player and have limited coins and since they are hard to come by, I feel unsure if keeping all shinies and have them take up my space, without having any use for them. On one hand, it's great for collection, on the other hand, is a f2p players main concern "collection" if they don't have the capacity for it? I personally like the idea of only having hight CO/IV pokemons and dump the "useless" ones, but I still not sure if that's a good idea. Anyone that could recommend or get e fresh point of view to my conundrum? Much appreciated.
Maybe someday I will get a bag. But right now it basic survival! I dont live for the game. I play it because I cant go fishing anymore. But It is a cool game!
Okay so I pretty much participate in all activities that Pokémon GO has to offer catching, gyming and raiding. As far as items go. Managing items comes down to what you actually use. Lets take the ultra ball for one I personally don't keep more then 150+ nor do I toss them I just actually use them. Sure one can argue I'm saving up for community day! Right! but you know when that's gonna happen so you can stock up the week before if youd like. I personally just keep the standard pokeball. Why? because I can throw out 40 on the spot without thinking about replenishing cause it is a very common item that comes out of the pokestop. As opposed to 400+ ultra balls you become so hesitant become its a more scarce item. Scarce as it may be however ask yourself ive collected this many ive used how many?
Max revives or Hyper potions. In this part I use all potions I cant even hoard potions if you battle 3-6 hours you need all types of healing. But before I started taking my battle career seriously I had many max revives. Once again I asked myself how often do I use this? Once again hoarding a scarce item. Maybe set yourself a limit to actually use an item. I will collect 400 Max revives and clean out every gym once I collect said amount. and if you're hoarding Max revives you don't need any form of potion or revive. The one item does it all think end game dog for your pokemon TO THE POINT OF FAINTING!
So the bottom line is if you've got hundreds of items in your bag ask yourself how long has it honestly been. Am I trying to keep a living dex or a living storage...
My bag claims I’m at 500/500 but I added all my potions, balls, revives, raid passes, gifts, incubators and eggs up and they’re nowhere near 500, what is taking up space I’m not seeing?

Don't you think, keeping the potion is good for 'topping up' your pokemon. Ones that need very little powering up. Super, for ones that need that little bit extra.. and so forth?
I live on a small town with some pokestops and I still have only 300 of storage space. Dude I can't imagine my BP with 2000 of space that's crazy 0.o
I delete so many items every day cause I spin prob around 2-300 stops a day + open 20 gifts :')

I feel like there's no reason to get rid of great balls if you have regular balls. I have a rule of thumb, 10-500cp regular ball, 500-1000cp great ball, 1000+cp ultra ball, so I use all types of ball all the time. But if you have too many balls there's no harm in just ditching all the red ones and running exclusively with greats for a while. I totally agree about the rare candy though, just use it.
If you're running a Go Plus it only uses red balls. Hence my reasoning for tossing Greats. For me my rule is approximately 10-600cp Poké Ball, 600+ Ultra Ball.

The goplus only uses regular, I do wish you could select which ball it defaults to though. So as someone who has a goplus I discard greats if I need to make space
I waste potions on Blissey/Snorlax/Wobbuffet just because it's fairly easy.
Same with super potions.

Go Plus only uses red balls. If you don't use a Go Plus keep Great and Ultra.

I am one of those players who keeps 500 rare candies because I'm saving them for legendary's in gen 4. It will get cold in the winter and I doubt I will raid when it's in around 20 degrees which is fairly common. I like the video but I disagree with deleting great balls and keeping poke balls. That only makes sense if you have a Go Plus or a Gotcha. If you don't (and I don't) there's no point into deleting a ball that's better than a pokeball instead of just deleting the poke balls and keeping the great balls!

item management is difficult if u do alot of raids very often.
because you will be stacked up with too many TM and rare candy that u have nth else to give to. and keeping them will eat into other items. its bad.
i recently just trash away 60 fast tm. n i holding 800 rare candies. all my legendary have 400 candies. even after powering up afew.

Why do you call it Wafu" raiding? (I mean, I know that it refers to doing as many as poss in one session) but i just googled Wafu and cannot figure out the origin of the term or why it applies to pokemon go.
I believe the term originates from a Japanese word as they coined this style of raiding but I cannot remember the original word. Sorry!

Yea what she did in this video only makes sense if you spend 90% of your time doing raids, are a lower/mid level player and let your go plus do all the catching.

It’s painful to watch u get rid of great balls. What u said makes no sense. Get rid of poke balls and leave great balls as your base. It has a better catch rate.

Did you play during the Sunkern/Natu event? Many quests were rewarding evolution items. Hopefully we see a similar event soon for you.
Yeah i played it but I only ever get dust, balls, berries or mystery Pokemon(not that extra chances of Pokemon is ever a bad thing) didn’t have a clue you could get them from quests...... do you think they’ll ever put them in gifts???

Why not keep great balls over regular balls like you keep hyper potions over regular potions? Inconsistent and illogical to keep the weaker thing while trashing the stronger item.
Because Go Plus ONLY uses regular balls (as I said). Otherwise yes I'd only have Great and Ultra.
