  • Ucluelet, British Columbia on Vancouver Island is absolutely stunning. In this video I hike on the Wild Pacific Trail - Lighthouse Loop which is a beautiful trail along the Pacific Coast. It is absolutely gorgeous with the waves crashing against the rocks, and the lush green vegetation. It's definitely one of my favorite trails. I also check out the town and harbour of Ucluelet and have lunch at the Blue Room Bistro Cafe.

    As a former Ukee resident, I must tell you how much I enjoyed your video. My ex-husband and his crew built the first phase of the "Wild Pacific Trail". I spent lots of time storm watching and now enjoy it from the Amphitrite Live Cam! Thanks for sharing this wonderful video!

    The video made me feel as if I was right there on the trail. Spectacular views (as you said). FYI - I now only watch your videos AFTER I've eaten, as the restaurant food you order always makes me hungry and my new weight-loss plan includes NO snacking in between meals. :)

      Haha, that's funny. I have to admit, we usually never finish all the food, and take the leftovers home for another meal. But, I always finish the dessert if we order one lol.

      @@TakeTimeToTravel I visited Ucluelet only once in 1973 on my very first hitchhiking adventure in North America at the young age of fifteen. I entered via the San Juans and landed at Sidney. I had told the immigration officer I had planned to go camping up near Kelsey Bay and stay on the island for about a week. I had less than five dollars to my name and lasted about five days. This was to be the training ground for my life on the road. I learned a great deal on my first road adventure. True story.

      @@destinationsunknowntheroadsles Amazing that you managed to stay for five days with only about 5 dollars.

      @@TakeTimeToTravel Back in the early 1970's throughout much of Canada there was a network of cheap hostels to stay in. Ranging from free to fifty cents for one night. Some just served breakfast while others offered three meals a day and sometimes you did chores. Nanaimo city was one of them. Also, remember everything was so much more affordable for everyone. Hitchhiking was very common back then due to much of the hippy movement of the 1960s. Sadly those days are gone forever and I saw it coming and made another directional change in my life concerning travel.

    Are there are areas along the coast to camp or cheaper guesthouses or hotels in the area?

    • @TakeTimeToTravel
      @TakeTimeToTravel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are quite a few campgrounds in the Ucluelet area, right up to Tofino. There are also many motels and resorts that would be cheaper, that aren't right on the beach.
