- The KitchenAid Stand Mixer Shaved Ice Attachment is here! Today we are using the KitchenAid Shave Ice to make a fluffy treat for these hot summer days! This attachment fits on the power hub of the KitchenAid Stand Mixer. It has both fine and course ice shaver blades. It produces shaved ice that has the consistency of fluffy snow that you can flavor with lemonade, juice, or snow cone syrup. You can add a variety of toppings! For anyone in the market for a mixer, note that this model used in the video is the 6 quart bowl lift mixer, and it is the only Kitchenaid currently sold with all metal internals, the smaller 5 quart lift, and the classic 5 quart tilt, are currently sold with plastic internal gears. I highly recommend spending the extra for the 6 quart lift model, or saving money and purchasing an older 5 quart tilt model if you’re comfortable opening and applying new grease to the gears.

I just discovered this product. Of course, I had to check TH-cam. And I always like your reviews. You make it fun because you are learning while demonstrating it. Yep, I'm going to get it. I think it would go great with my amaretto.
I bought some KoolAid mixes, too. I put the mix in bottom of a tall, wide glass, stir, then add the shaved ice to it. Stir to mix up and flavored ice!

Thank you for a great review seeing this attachment in action! Yes, one can order additional puck molds. QVC has already introduced this attachment about 3 weeks ago. The packaged deal offered had 4 additional molds.
I think this is way quieter than regular shaved ice makers. Also I haven’t tried this yet but is the ice soft compared to regular shaved ice makers?
Best to bag in paper bag. They don't get the freezer burn flavor. You could always put them in a plastic bag after putting them in a paper one.
Is there a scientific reason why putting the ice in a paperbag won't give it freezer burn?
@fbk227 Yes. The paper will absorb any moisture. Where the plastic will allow it to settle on the ice and refreeze. This is what causes freezer burn and adds a stale taste. Every time you open the freezer, you add hot air in. Hot air adds moisture. It's crazy how fast it can build up.

Your husband mentioned Margaritaville - could you add that shaved ice to tequila and lime to make a frozen Margarita? Or would the ice melt in the tequila too quickly?

I just bought a stand mixer and I am so excited but I'm I'm watching this video in my room right now and I'm thinking should I go look and see if it'll work on mine which I don't think it will but you said it works on all kinds so when I get up and go look I will let you know if I cuz I'm just lazy right now so I don't feel like going in there but I don't think it works for mine I only paid $150 for mine so if you have a better one than that then probably mine probably doesn't have the attachment area all right bye
The PowerHub on all models of KitchenAid Stand Mixers are Universal since 1919. This attachment will work onto the front of your New Machine just like will on the front of every other Machine ever made from KitchenAid even old vintage/antique ones.
QVC has it for $79.98 - I just ordered it.
June 2023 QVC has it for $89.99 plus 8 ice molds
Run the ice mold under water and it will come right out 😉
How does this compare to the ninja creami?

It would've been better if it could work with regular ice cubes, it is a bit inconvenient when you run out of ice and have to wait for it to freeze.
I saw your show on Martha Stewart Dutch Ovens, you convinced me to go get one. I want you, not your husband, you make us something that is vegetarian in it on the stove top and clean it for us on the show. I need your help in my kitchen. Also, besides pasta boiling, there has to be more to enjoy for dinner.
Maybe run those cups under warm water for a few seconds to loosen the ice up better
