Met this bloke at an event in Canada 2 years ago, I was there on my own having dinner, and John was guest speaker that night. Saw me sitting alone and asked if he could join me? Told stories about 70,s NYC all night. He is the real deal.
Man, dudes being inside, dealing, pushing, buttfucked in prison, knife fights, gun down, that's probably why the music sounds so good and sincere. Nowadays we have internet pro-tools bands. And people call me a boomer for not liking this shit.
me too I met him at Burger King in Cleveland 2 years ago. he just ordered hamburger bread buns with Catsup and pickle & corn. He was nice. he signed my hat

While I was down in NYC, visiting with a friend, I decided to message John (we had been talking for a year or two at this point on fb) and see if he was around the LES. surer than shit, he was on his bike nearby and told me to meet him at this juice bar, liquiteria.. he bought me this vegan smoothie and we chatted out front for like an hour. dude is so damn cool and such an inspiration. if you see this man, i still owe ya a smoothie!
Got the chance to talk to JJ after a Cro Mags gig, really nice guy! We talked about many things from his feud with Harley to his Iron Man training. Then Sick of it All played and after that Craig Setari approached the fans and we talked about boxing for a while. Great to see these NYHC legends still kickin ass.
That's the biggest disappointment bro, he hates vegans just because he's a right-wing plant based. He once said that vegans are bunch of mamaluke leftist snowflakes.
He is super good at making quick money. He gets the best ideas. He used to talk about how he wore a santa suit and would pretend to be mentally handicapped while ringing a bell like salvation army. Hes a survivor. No matter where you are in life, survive.
Saw the Cro-Mags in 86 at Ruthies Inn Berkeley open up for the Suicidal Tendencies. They tore it up. This guy has energy like no tomorrow. Crom-Mags were never the same without John as singer.
The notion, of his particular account of PTSD is extremely accurate. Based upon studies done. Not just some personal opinion. And Joe, you said it spot on. I've been collecting data on what percentage of the population, diagnosed with some form of psychosis/serious psychological disorder/psychological state of mind, find themselves at a suicidal state of mind (conscious or not), who also have a biological link vs. "Triggers", as they call it, from some form of trauma experienced, prior to culmination of the puberty-stage in life... They've made society become a place where mental health issues and being suicidal is the norm. Imagine making a Tik Tok about your social anxiety when you don't actually have it. This will therefore cause further segregation between these folks and the help and treatment they actually need. As a Gen Z member, my generation is so brainwashed. We have absolutely no interest in being happy anymore because it's not cool. Being depressed and listening to depressed rappers/Pop stars who end up killing themselves over things that didn't truly matter is now the norm.
