Love this song, So glad you have it on here. The first time I heard this song I was filled with peace. I felt like I was doing the best I could with all that I had in this life. It helps me to focus on the here and now, on the things that I have control of and LET GO of the things that I don't. I feel like I can give it to the LORD.I ask my self am I happy with in my SOUL.If I can say it is well with MY SOUL then, I feel okay. Living the best that I can is all the Lord asks of me and I can.
drummer703 Probably when the poems whose melodies we don't recall -- but whose texts we preserve as the Book of Psalms -- were sung for their first centuries, they were sung mostly with percussion. Modern hymnody may have abandoned this for a few handfuls of centuries, but I think if in praise the trees themselves will clap their hands [scripturally speaking], the percussion's just fine. Harp yes, and timbrel also. {This from a contemporary praise music leader! When in services I try to include material that's "High Church" -- requiring pipe organ etc. -- my congregation stares. I'm 52, and yet I'm younger than quite a few of them! They've gotten used to the use of percussion and modern instruments -- that modern sound and thinking opens up their hearts in the way the "high liturgical" no longer does, and they sing with all of their hearts.} And the percussive thing is something we've not added into the mix, it's part of the ancient heritage we've rediscovered. So. Thank you.
It is all just an assumption. Probably means that you don´t know how it was and you bend the history to your wishes. I still think and feel that it is horrible. Your congregation is infected with bad taste. I´m sorry for them
I first heard this song unattributed as a missionary. It has been my favorite hymn ever since, and this version has always been my favorite

One mistake, the words are "when my faith shall be sight" not, "faith shall decide"... otherwise... nice job!
Sunshine mafia
again with this devilish beat. Beat ruines music
as a percussionist, I disagree. Nevertheless, that doesn't make me right, it just means we differ in taste
Rhytm is no musique. It is something horses can walk on, as well as people. Actually it is for children and for people without musical talents.
