Living in another country, or heck, even another part of your own country, is bound to result in your picking up an accent. I lived in England for about two months and when I came back I realized I had picked up a slight English accent. It went away very quickly when I was back home, though. I don't think it's something Bae has to worry about. Even if she picks up a Japanese accent, it's not like she won't still be speaking clearly understandable English. She just might not be doing it with a heavy Aussie accent.
Same. After 2 years in uni in different region, my friend back home said that my accent changes significantly. Meanwhile I didn't notice that at all. But going back home after uni, the accent just disappears completely.

It's way harder when you know how to speak multiple languages. There are times when I'm thinking and speaking in japanese, then when an idea suddenly pops out, I speak German in my mind. Try accidently speaking in a dying language despite English being your native language. Some languages are scary man as they come out of nowhere and be like "I like this brain it's mine now" as some people are naturally attuned to different languages. Hell English's SVO structure itself is not natural to a lot of native English speakers as SOV makes more sense
Ever since I learned to say the Japanese tap 'r' properly, I've had a certain problem. Because a failure to tap the 'r' correctly kind of produces a normal 'r' sound, my brain seems to have latched onto the idea that a tap 'r' is more correct than an ordinary 'r'. It hasn't affected my English (yet, fingers crosses) but when I have to say a new word or name that isn't English, I automatically try to tap any 'r's because not doing that feels sort of lazy or like an embarrassing failure.

It is honestly concerning, moreso when I've noticed I don't think in spanish anymore.

But since I am learning English since 2nd or 3rd grade, my thoughts and even swear words started transforming from Russian to English. Ngl, this is a bit scary, because there is a possibility that one day I'll be better in English than in Russian. That low-key feels kinda strange.
