      Mine is doing the same. Just got it out of the box and the battery shows one bar but the charger indicates fully charged by having the solid red dot. Did you ever find out what is wrong?

      @Woodworking 3.0 after I posted my question I saw another video that shows that you have to really force the battery into the charger until it clicks in. It felt like I was going to break something that’s how hard you have to push on it. Once it snapped in, it began to flash like it’s charging and then when it’s full it does turn solid red.

    • @brightbkh07
      @brightbkh07 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      For anyone still wondering about this the problem is the battery isn’t fully seated. You have to press the battery until it snaps in all the way and it feels like you are gonna break it before it is fully seated

    • @brightbkh07
      @brightbkh07 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MegaRtty hahaha yeah I read the instructions saying it needed to be fully seated and thought it was. I felt like if I pushed any harder it would break something but now that it’s snapped in and out a few times it’s easy to do. Glad you got it working brother!

    Does Dewalt use battery PCB kill signal like Makitas to render the battery unusable if it's no longer good, even if you replace the bad cells ? for Makitas, if after 3 failed charge attempts the circuit get bricked.

    All the tricks don't work for mine. Because it was not a battery issue.
    Turns out that these packs have a "fusible link" inside. Mine burned in two. Apparently, it got very hot and melted the inside plastic as well! Can't find any video to show this. Looking for a replacement has turned up nothing.

    DeWalt chargers used to fix this problem. I wonder if they still do.
    Used to be that leaving them on the charger for 8 hours would equalize the cells to give them their life back.

      Mine ended up having a dead cell or two. Must have over heated. When a cell over heats it can release gasses causing a little tab under the button contact to push up and eliminate connection to the external circuit. They will read 0V. Btw this by design to prevent use of the overheated cell. I had to take my pack apart and push the tab back down on the "dead" cells and now they seem to work. I ended up replac8ng the "dead" cells with new cells before I discovered this so I haven't really used them since I fixed them. But I charged them and they are holding it fine

    Next time you make a video show the people what all you do. For example when you used the multimeter to check the voltage in the cells you should tell them what to set the multimeter to in order to check the cells correctly. I mean bc not everyone that is watching the video knows how to use the tools required in order to replace the cells. Thanks also other than that the video was helpful.
