    Here's my tip, for what it's worth. In the UK the Tyvek tape is (like you say) really expensive (£34-£40 a roll). I have started using the white packing tape (the one with FRAGILE printed along it in red) and found the epoxy doesn't stick to that (£1.99 a roll)

      I used to use painters tape. It puts a texture on it but won't stick.

    I know the client probably decided on the weird middle piece of the bar that interrupts the river, but man is it super ugly. The river just stops with completely vertical lines and there's a different colored, perfectly square logo piece dead center. Yuck.

      It would've been cool to see the river pattern somehow flow on through that middle piece, maybe by faking the grain-pattern on that middle piece. But it's not ugly as is, but that's my opinion.

    Tip for the Future: the next time you guys pour something that big/thick, point the shop fans at the slabs and turn them on the moment you stop popping bubbles...
    Epoxy Resin doesn't care if it gets a little cold, all that does is lengthen the cure time a little and the fans help keep the Resin (and you) from overheating...

      @@bionda470 That can leave a visible line between the different layers (called Witness Lines) that can damage the final appearance of the project...
      Sometimes, you have to do it all at once to get the best possible final appearance...

    The Leggari website has a volume calculator for your use. It skips a couple of those steps, super easy peasy. And awesome river!!

    I have found that if you calk the bottoms and sides where they attach to your mold bottoms, they don't leak.

    Save money on the tape by using Easy Liner removable adhesive clear laminate contact paper. Comes in 3 sizes: 12" x36', 18" x24' & 20" x30'. The resin releases really easily from it.
    Most people prevent leaks by not only putting silicone in the joints but tape the joint on the outside as well.
    The bar top would have looked better if the river continued through the logo section as well.

    John, an idea for the wrong sized logo. Use the Miss Piggie, hog out from the backside the logo. Leaving a thin wall. Put an LED back light. Wall’la a logo for another part of the store.

    Any advice on how to make a make-shift jig for a DIY'er making a outdoor table with 2 30 inch wide and 8 ft long slabs. Should I not do a river for an outdoor table on the east coast that gets all the seasons? Just looking for some direction. I'm having a hard enough time finding a place that can level it for me.

      If you check out my channel and search "Router sled" I have a cheap metal one you can make in 5 minutes, and on our glass river video we have one we made specifically for that video. You can make an outdoor river, its just going to need some love every year and probably covered during harsh winter

    I have never made a epoxy table so this may be a dumb question, but why don't you mix all the buckets together after adding the die to insure uniform color?
