    You can strain the caps so there is honey and the caps can be sold as beeswax

    Hi Mark, I use a 'comb fork' [like a wide kitchen fork] which scratches the cell tops of the honey comb that aren't completely uncapped just to expose the cells before extracting if that helps you and they are reasonably cheap to purchase.
    Does you spinner have different speeds ? Have you tried spinning at a slower speed to get some/bulk of the homey out first before going to a faster speed to extract the last bit of honey to save 'blowing' out the wax foundation on your frames.
    Like every thing in beekeeping experiment and find what works for you. Only offering some suggestions.

    Mark, you should be able to adjust the blades if you think they are cutting too deep.

    The capping perhaps could be shovelled into an old wine press with a grate and a tap at the bottom,just a thought,cheers for the video guys.

    Hey bush bee man always love your videos . I love this setup . how did you go getting food grade certification for it. I'm thinking very strongly of doing something similar to this at my place.
    Finally I know you probably mentioned it in part 1 of setting up your extraction room video but the beekeeping equipment did you buy that second-hand from a mate or is there a online retailer that you can suggest that sell second-hand equipment.

    Is there any way to use the uncapping stuff? I imagine it's a bit messy with all the wax and honey and other stuffs.

    • @LarryLeesBees
      @LarryLeesBees 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      A good uncapping tank will have baffles in the bottom that the honey can go through leaving the wax. There are also wax separators that do just that. Separate the wax from the honey, leaving nice clean dry wax for using later.
