Wonderful job on the videos. I'd like to thank you for a rough day at work. I went down the Bush Bee Man video rabbit hole, the other night. I'm watching this crazy Australians adventures. The videos are awesome. But they're like train wrecks. Can't quit watching. Next thing I know The bloody damn alarm goes off. Time to go to work. So, thank you Bush Bee Man. For a really tough day at work. But well worth it. Enjoyed all the videos. So thanks again from this Yank up in the cold of Minnesota.
You use burlap in your smoker, it's hard to get for free here in texas. If you buy it it's a bit expencive. I've found that dryed horse or cow sh!t works very good. Easy to light, stays lit, burns a long time and gives a lot of cool smoke. I enjoy your content and pick up some good tips.
Mr Bush Bee Man, I’ve been using hessian since I saw you using it and I love it so from now on I will use 2 rolls. Thanks for another great tip. Rhonda
Having a good time, did you check on the queen cell building before this stage? Once they have a few queen cells on different frames , that is when I split them off and load them up to get themselves underway! Great out come, Stay safe!
Haven't seen my queen yet, got swarm in March. There are plenty of bees. Checked bottom box twice.Took 9 frames in 3 at a time,, 3 x 3 weeks ago, 3 x 1 week ago, 3 x 3 days ago, from top box, got 13kgs of honey. 1st 3 were light honey. When I took next lot they had filled and capped the frames I put in 1st. And I took them, were dark honey. I get nervous. I was calmer 3rd time. Thanks for info on smoker. Where do you get Hessian?
Hessian from eg Coffee Bean Sacks... Maybe other food stuffs like imported dried goods, Rice, Beans, Lentils etc. At Import Warehouse, pre factory processing. Or maybe those Eco Green Food Stores... Who bulk sell loose food not in plastic packaging* ! 🐝 Better for the planet.*
A “ Arseholes” can you be more specific? lol, it’s a great feeling to delve into a split and find brood cells couldn’t care about sighting the queen there on.
I am not a beekeeper, but I have seen a lot of beekeepers talk about "mean" or "angry" hives... Ideally, you want to be able to open the hive and do what you need to do in there without any gear at all. But some hives are just so angry that you can't work with them without a full suit on, and even then they swarm and sting everything like crazy anyway. And when the hives are like that, you won't want to come back to them ever--which is against the whole point of keeping bees in the first place. Also called 'temperament' sometimes, but it is just how the hive reacts to you messing about in there.
I go along with you about pollen coming in to feed the brood, sure they bring it back all the time but they seem to cring heaps more back when they have brood.
That's new age feminist propaganda, without drones you have no queens or workers, their job is the beginning of the cycle of a laying queen and without a mating there's no new generation. Too many drones is a problem though and that's the queens fault, too many drones will run down the food stores but you want a good number in any mating yard too few will reduce successful mating rates and add time to the mating process logically. There's no shortage of unreasonable and biased publicity on drones, but same in the world with Mankind and the male being demonised, so perhaps a reflection of that illogical nonsense. Cheers
That rant about drones just showing up to other boxes slayed me. I love this channel.
That's dedication! You know the queen is in the box but you go thru it again to get a good shot for the camera. Thanks for that! SW Florida, USA.

My father kept bees in Lebanon and Sydney for 68 years... he only used Hessian in the smoker... I followed in his footsteps.

I like the way you sound when you talk.
I like your hive tool. I have one just like. My favorite one. I bought mine at Better Bee in New York USA.
Tipperary is in Ireland btw! Watching from there now, great show!
Hello from county cavan
Hey, no heshon available but I use paper bark paper. Roll it up, light it and it goes & goes.

😃😄😂Hand held flame thrower! LOL
Ooohhh this makes me want to breed grey bees, they’re my favourite
Excellent
Add a handful of green grass on top of hessian to have cool smoke
Interessant
I discovered that even my calm bees will attack red gloves 🤣🤣
Haha they sure do hate the colour red!
"Well actually I don't know that they're happy to see you, as such, they just don't give a shit."

A drone is like a wombat because he eats roots and leaves. But without drones you won't get cat brood.
Cool Video, what happened to the 2 old beehives in the cage and fridge? and any update on cleaning up Les's Beehives , from last year...
Welcome Back👍
Mark you'll find the queen where the freshest eggs are laid ,& don't use smoke you'll never find her

@@spokehedz absolutely correct, perhaps I didn’t word my comment well.

Most of us know what cat brood is . And it isn't where the cat had kittens! LOL!
Tipperary is in middle of Ireland, I live near nenagh, market town in co. Tipperary 😂
Are you safe thank you for doing that it's not going to be dark for a while
Am I beeonkers mad if I subscribe lol This is the funniest bee channel on youtube! hahaha I just subbed!
In australian cаme spring. It is cool.
"All drones look the same" said a worker bee....
I’ve seen hives with 2 or 3 supers stacked on the brood chamber. Why don’t you do that. Why do you split the hives after they have just 1 super?
What type of hives are those ( Poly) maybe? Whats the brand name? and are they made in langstroth type. Thank you
Borrow the Mrs cooker to light it up outside.
6:30 you talking about dirt roster? lmao
Know what you don't do when you say give me a minute let me get my face on you say please
