As a history person who’s spent a lot of time in medieval/historical/sword-boy TH-cam, the one thing that’s mildly disappointing is the lack of historical realism. It’s a fantastical show obviously, but they went so far doing so much practically, it would have been great to see period correct roman armor for example, and period correct Celtic weaponry as well.
Just one of those things, you can’t really have everything though, and I imagine at a certain point it’s a budget constraint. Even so, everything looks great! The passion poured into this is wonderful.
1. There are no Roman soldiers depicted in this video.
2. The sword featured in the thumbnail is a sword of legend in the books and supposed to be unique in it's stunningly fine craftsmanship.
3. These are Romanized Celts, not Romans and not pre-Roman Celtics either.

The gear isn’t just inaccurate to the time period. It’s outright fake. Not in a “this is cool fantasy” way but a “we watched history’s Vikings and the last kingdom.” Just admit it…
@krakenmckraken9128 take your false flag attacks elsewhere. There's nothing highly unrealistic about leather armor. If the design is anachronistic by a few hundred years I can tell you that nobody cares. Chain mail was used by Celts since at least the 5th century.

@JW_______ Leather armour is unrealistic here because it wasn't used. Also the armour is outright fake as he says, why is a 5th century Romanised Celt wearing a 1st century leather imperial gallic helm? Stop shilling, the costumes are bad and inaccurate.

I’d love to see them explore another genre. I know Ben Shapiro hates Jane Austen, but many people love her work. One of her pieces, Sandition, was never finished. The only movie I’ve seen of it was a poorly written modernized take. Those who attempted to finish it understood neither Austen nor the time she lived in. I’d love to see them find someone who understood where she was coming from as well as her style, and could finish the work and make a movie based on it!I think they have the resources and ability to find people who could make it a thing of beauty and taste!

It will be a multiple series project. Season 1 looks like it covers Taliesin and most of Merlin.
