After decades of carrying striker fire semi autos on & off duty, retirement meant I could finally carry anything I wanted to & it was a pleasure getting reacquainted with the 1911 platform via a Tisas 1911A-1...$300 & totally reliable after the usual 1911 break in period of around 300 rounds & easy to keep nice tight groups even with those tiny G.I. sights....best bang for the buck in my opinion & I recently bought a Tisas PX-9 that I'm very happy with as well .... Anyone looking for reliable, accurate, less expensive than mainstream pistols should check out Tisas...👍👍
Congrats on your retirement! I did as well 2 yrs ago however I stick with American Mil Spec 1911's . Eventually your gonna want to do stuff to it and that's where the 300$ say you got what you paid for!! Spend your pension money on a real gun!!😂
Ted, I never heard of a 1911 on a budget. They look awesome and pretty cool. I always thought that the 1911 guns were too expensive. I'm not a 1911 guy, but seeing what you showed us was very impressive. Who knows I might buy one of them. They look like old-school guns but for a gun on a budget is not a bad deal. I picked up a rock island for 500 bucks after tax. It’s a tank and the fit and finish was higher then I expected for a pistol in that price range.the only knock I can give it was the wood grips it comes with are slick. But 15 bucks on Amazon and I got some nice thin g10 grips and it’s a great shooter.haven’t been picky with ammo either.

Is the fit and finish better then there expensive counterparts maybe not? I can’t say but I’ll tell you what the tisas the rock island are just as reliable.
Yes, I got a commander model Ruger 45 auto 1911. The most accurate gun I have in 45 love it and it is downright beautiful. Glad you’ve shown it in your video. Thanks for another great video.😊😊😊
I have one kislux bag I got in 2019, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze...
There are a lot of decent 1911s on budget prices these days, seems everyone is making them, similar to the AR 15 experience these days, market is so flooded with them the prices have come down.
I bought me a 1911 after longing for one….. I looked for a long time & broke down & bought a Colt. Haven’t shot is of yet, I bought 1000 rds of hollow points, hope I didn’t make a mistake on either. Never cleaned one or had one apart. That what worries me, any advice on cleaning & taking apart? Video ect!
Disassembly of these are all over the internet. It also depends some what as to the style, full guide rod, vs GI short style and if it has a barrel bushing or not.
Good choice however you could of elaborated what colt you bought!!?? Or what hollow points you bought!! Higher end 1911's are best for hollow points. Stay away from cheap ammo and Gold Dots as the jam! Hornady Soft tip defense loads are just as good. Practice with regular round ball ammo as the feed ramps have no problem with them! Lightly oil the gun before using it by field stripping it.

@@humpy936tell that to my best friend who bought one from a big box store and sent back 3 times and told no problem but my friend took it apart and found all the specs out which caused it to jamb everytime he took it out. He took it down and cleaned everything up and now the gun doesn’t malfunction😳 poor customer service haven’t changed😡
You saved the best for last ted. Im a Colt and Springfield guy and the only one id be interested in besides a Ruger is the Auto Ordinance GI 1911. I was aware this gun is still available. Rugers aren't that cheap especially the ine shown with scroll work!! Tissas is junk in my opinion don't let it's attractive price louwer you in!! They're difficult to modify internally!!
I have a Springfield 1911 A1 milspec stainless I bought for $740. All types of ammo, never one jam. Lubrication is the key. Absolutely love mine.
