My grandmother use to make it for me minus the lentils as well and I loved it. It was my favourite dish. My mother started making it with the lentils when I was a teenager and I realised that it was just as nice without all the slime from the okras (ochros) which some people don’t like as the lentils soaked up most of it. During pregnancy the slimy version didn’t work well for me......😀
